Within ITID Technology there are 5 key global business functions with approximately 8,000 people, spread over multiple locations worldwide.

OVERVIEW

· ITID Commercial Operations Manager will assist the ITID CFO with reporting financial performance management across the Global ITID Technology Organization.

· The role has a global remit and the role holder is a key member of the ITID CFO & Commercial Operations Leadership team.

· The jobholder will be required to build strong and effective relationships across a complex and senior stakeholder framework which includes the ITID CFO, ITID Global COO, HOST CFO and Group Technology COO team providing Business Analytics and insight, whilst at the same time providing constructive challenge and an independent perspective.

· The jobholder will play a crucial role in understanding the HSBC Global strategy in the context with Technologies strategy, with a particular focus on increasing the efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of transparent and commercially focused analytics.

· ITID Commercial Operations Manager will also be responsible for defining and developing a world-class Financial framework to support the delivery of ITID Technology Direct costs, Indirect Costs and Recharges, Portfolio Reporting and implementing global standards of financial management and control across all geographies, and leveraging centers of excellence where appropriate.

· The jobholder will work closely with the IT COO Finance team in developing the reporting of ITID Technology performance

· This role is a direct report into the Global ITID CFO and will be a key member of the ITID CFO and Commercial Operations team.

· The role holder will be based in UK and manage a team of at least 2 direct reports.

Summary of Accountabilities within ITID COO:

· To act as a trusted partner in providing financial support for both expense and revenue management

· To aid in the coordination of all planning matters relating to the Profit and Loss including costs and recoveries and capital expenditure. To provide supporting information to IT Infrastructure Delivery management in the monitoring, controlling and reporting of related costs and recovery of those costs

· To track monthly capital expenditure at a detailed level

· To provide variance reporting by cost center inclusive of significant variances for revenue and expense

· To monitor and provide variance explanations and reporting for all IT Infrastructure delivery cost pools

· To coordinate billing recovery for global roles, including building the original plan and subsequent reforecasts throughout the year. Coordinate financial impact analysis of changes. Partner with Finance to ensure plans are communicated globally to regions for input into local unit rates

· To report progress on cost saving and cost avoidance for IT Infrastructure Delivery in relation to benchmarking, Group initiatives and regional initiatives where required.

· To provide support for business case analysis, including financial preparation and validation

· To manage the Rate setting process which prices services based on total cost of ownership and charges Global Businesses / Functions based on consumption

· To ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with company or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues

· To maintain company internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

Typical Targets and Measures

Labour Capitalisation

· Managing the end to end tangible labour capitalization process across ITID ( $100 target In 2019) as well as facilitating it within Non-ITID ( $80m target in 2019)

Billing Transformation

· Help drive simplification, transparency and accuracy of the billing process related to Labour capitalisation, with involvement in the focus group driving this forward.

Project Accounting

· Help drive accuracy of the reported project actuals with a focus on ensuring non-Clarity costs are correctly reported on the project.

Business Management Support

· Support Business Management team by providing Service Line level underlying monthly spend and variance analysis reports together with commentary and providing additional analysis if required.

Process Improvements

· Current reporting and planning processes are highly manual, largely due to a lack of automation and inadequate tools. Whilst plans are being developed to improve the technology infrastructure, the role will require creative solutions to re-engineer processes and redesign outputs to improve the support provided to the business and the Technology function

Adhoc reporting

· Provide support to the wider team as this role tends to Impact Direct cost and hence requires oversight of the Direct Cost Month end process as well as accountabilities.

· An agreed target for labour cap with stretching financial targets that are delivered / improved upon

· A joined up approach with Global Business Finance and COO teams that delivers world-class processes and value-add to the businesses at a lower unit cost

· Linkages between financial and non-financial MI, clearly articulated and understood supporting more effective decision-making

· Risks and issues escalated and addressed at appropriate stages

· Business acknowledges improved transparency and relevance / understanding of cost drivers

· Increased automation, reduced manual processes

· Build and ensure strong relationships with key stakeholders and team members, adopting a joined up approach, to execute change at pace with minimum conflict

· Analyse stakeholder goals and effectively manage their expectations, addressing any misalignment

· Maintain contact with customer, suppliers etc. to identify and communicate status, progress, risks and issues

· Use excellent leadership skills to influence a distributed set of stakeholders in order to engage them in delivering against the business / HOST and HOST Finance agendas

· Working groups, executive sponsorship and steering committees established and well managed to drive change across the function

· Define and implement an ITID finance functional model to support the Service Line Business Management team.

· A cohesive, Business Management function that is recognized by both the business for their commercial acumen and business insight
