We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join as AVP, Regulatory Reporting (Insurance).

Principal responsibilities :

· Direct and control all Regulatory and local reporting and tax related matters of HSBC Insurance (Singapore) Pte. Limited. This includes responsibility in ensuring the accuracy of accounting entries, proper adoption of internal controls as laid down by management and meeting all financial reporting deadlines for local management, statutory and regulatory reporting (MAS, ACRA, and IRAS)
· Manage audits and requirements or queries from auditors, MAS and IRAS
· Support the business by providing finance related input to help with decision making
· Undertake projects on an ad-hoc basis to ensure necessary requirements for new products and reporting are met
· Look for opportunities to streamline and enhance the processes either by automation or by use of digital tools to further the Digital Finance agenda
· Support the IFRS 17 project team by providing advice on BAU processes
· Responsible for smooth daily operations of the accounting function including supervision of offshore team
· Ensure compliance of accounting transactions in accordance with FRS standards, regulations and Group standards
· Ensure the adoption and implementation of sound internal control in line with HSBC standards and in compliance with rules and regulations, both internal (e.g. IFIM and FIN FIM) and external

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  Graduate or post graduate degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
·  Subject matter expertise in accounting and reporting in the Insurance industry (preferably having Life Insurance reporting experience), including experience in RBC and tax reporting
·  Knowledge of Peoplesoft and AS400 systems is a definite advantage
·  Keen awareness of latest financial accounting environment and insurance regulations and being able to analyse the impact of these changes to the organisation
·  Communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage good working relationships within the team
·  Experience of developing and leading a team. Ability in developing and motivating employees
