THE OPPORTUNITY:
The “Technology & Innovation” Engineer it is a role who ensures a proper management of change of new innovations and changes related to packaging, always in comply with site and Unilever standards in terms of planning, quality and operation.
It is a key role for the business in the objective of landing projects to grow and improve gross margin.
It is as well a key role for the SU in the objective of continuous improvement leading and being part of QA and FI pillar projects.
Reports directly to Technical Manager and it is in direct contact with central R&D and supply Chain roles.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Implement packaging projects. Will be responsible of implementing innovations, changes and improvements projects carrying out the management of changes in direct contact to internal stakeholders and key central roles like R&D and supply chain.
Main Accountabilities
· Provide packaging options, develop, engineer, test packaging components and modify as necessary to meet: customer requirements, functional parameters, cost targets, manufacturing & shipping requirements
· Provide technical input to package design process and assure package design for manufacturing acceptability, while realizing desirable consumer & Brand packaging elements
· Develop and obtain information to approve packaging components plus write and issue packaging specifications and documentation, within required timelines.
· Deliver effectively in a cross-functional team environment by working with global Package Development counterparts, suppliers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Brand teams.
· Part of QA pillar. Will be part of the quality pillar with the objective of reducing TOP 10 QA matrix issues year on year, implementing projects and improvements.
· To be responsible for correct and complete technical specifications for packaging area.
· Support process projects as part of T&I team
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED :
· Bachelor's Degree / Post Graduate Diploma in technical discipline, preferably Chemistry, Engineering or Food Science.
· At least 3 years experience in industrial environment, preferably in food industry.
· Fluent in English and Spanish.
· Leadership.
· Business and customer mindset.
· Continuous Improvement and Innovation oriented.
· Goal oriented and project management.
