Job Title: Finance Data & Insights Expert
Salary: £35 + Excellent Benefits
Location: UK (Port Sunlight or Kingston)

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

This is an exciting new role within I&A Data Expertise team supporting the delivery of the Data Strategy and Data Transformation agenda for Unilever.

For Unilever to remain competitive in the future, the business needs to continue its path to become data intelligent. The Information and Analytics team is responsible for building data, data science and analytics as a core capability to help the business become data intelligent and drive business and organization performance. The team will deliver advanced products at scale and work closely with the market teams to ensure that decisions in Unilever are augmented with insight & recommendations wherever possible.

The Finance BIT is key to providing information to the business as a professional, efficient and effective service. This is achieved by bringing together information process and reporting activities into one place and enjoying the benefits of focus and scale.

There are five major themes to the Information and Analytics strategy:

· Deliver Intelligent systems at scale . Powering Business (cross functional) and Customer Development area through data and analytics. Building out the right applications to enable business teams to move faster, with more accurate and future looking decisions leveraging Big Data & Data Science
· Winning disproportionately in Markets. We believe that the best way to move the needle for Unilever in Analytics is to work with leading geographies to create analytics products that make a significant impact on our business
· Drive Unilever to assisted and predictive decision-making. The future is about assisted decision-making with machines (AI/Cognitive Computing/Machine Learning) unlocking the insights from vast deluge of consumer, customer & internal data, and presenting this in a way that is simple for our teams.
· Make data a true asset. Better data and data science access for every part of Unilever, across the 3 data framework (Connectivity, Growth, Continuous Improvement) and leading through the Enterprise Data Executive.
· World-class Information: One Version of the Facts. Continued excellence in delivery of diagnostics and insights to focus attention when and where it matters with a focus on Big Bets, Strategic Initiatives and Leadership team reporting

The ETS I&A Data and Insights team are responsible for the Enterprise Data Management and the delivery of global functional Business Insights. This team of data professionals will identify where, when, how and why the business uses data and will lead the way in democratising data across the organisation, building data into functional DNA and leading the global agenda to build-out our thought leadership around data and insight. This work will seamlessly integrate across transformation efforts and include embedding data foundations and functional insights into I&A global products.

JOB SUMMARY:

Engage the function, providing end-to-end information leadership
· Partner directly with the global business functions, understand the business needs and priorities
· Work with functional management to establish I&A business objectives, define strategies, draw up requirements specifications, and oversee development and implementation of the solution.
· Work with the business leaders to ensure that the business benefits are realized within the terms of the business case.
· Develop and manage the functional information strategy, prioritizing the information portfolio into manageable project opportunities
· Establish and maintain common information standards for the function; Drive Simplification; Serve as “design authority" for the function, ensuring that reports are delivered to established information and IT standards.

Develop and Deliver information solutions to the function
· Manage the delivery of functional reporting and Analytics solutions on-time, in-full, to-budget and in compliance with IT and Information standards and processes, without business disruption. This includes ad-Hoc reporting solutions (mainly manual, semi-automated).
· Evaluate and structure each functional opportunity into appropriate reporting projects with clear deliverables, timelines and cost.
· Establish and operate the governance mechanism to steer the projects (including support on prioritisation, funding and resource commitments).
· Deliver to the management information needs of global Functional stakeholders. These needs would include periodic standard reporting, Adhoc reporting, capability building initiatives (projects) and support for establishing new requirements. The delivery will happen through a combination of functional BIT team and IM Operations, including 3rd parties.
· Work with user management to ensure maximum utilization of Information solutions and to ensure that improvements are made in the business operations as Information projects go live.
· Work collaboratively with the Capability teams (Data, Front-end, Master Data, IM & MDM Operations) to deliver.

Provide superior information reporting services to the functions
· Champion Information & Analytics with clients and users and drive behavioural change.
· Provide support for the functional information area, including information applications
· Manage Service Performance & KPI's for Information Delivery Services, including Daily/monthly information services delivery (BIT, MBI, One View)
· Take full responsibility for the level of customer satisfaction, at regular intervals or after each significant delivery of product or service. Respond to customer queries and complaints. Ensure that corrective action is taken by own organization and by the customer organization. Facilitate customer involvement in the continuous improvement of the products and services supplied to them.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of operations and value chain in a consumer goods company, that is complemented by working knowledge of data management, business information intelligence, and emerging technologies required to deliver a world class data service. Most importantly, the ideal candidate will enjoy rolling their sleeves up to drive towards outcomes.
· Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience, experience in data and business intelligence preferred
· Strong track record of working with business stakeholders to drive definition and alignment
· Demonstrable understanding of Business processes
· Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously in a highly VUCA and competitive market
