Job Summary

The CSO Translation & Transcreation Specialist is responsible for providing timely transcreation services to internal and external business partners, and preparing documents for publishing for Retail teams, including but not limited to operational documents, emails, Merchandise Presentation instructions, operational training materials and Corporate Communications.

Key Responsibilities

Working within the Central Store Operations Department to:
/    Provides good quality translation / transcreation, ensuring projects are completed effectively and efficiently 
/    Works proactively and collaboratively within own language set and wider T&T (Translation & Transcreation) team to ensure translations are consistent /    Proactive approach in maintaining the glossaries, methods and supports terminology initiatives
/    Serves as an internal language resource to assist with identifying improvement opportunities and providing recommendations to improve translation services and communications for the organisation 
/    Collaborates with other business partners in providing a localised document
/    Supports the T&T Senior Specialist and Manager as well the wider CSO communication team as required
/    Ensure that all communications from Central Store Operations are communicated consistently to the correct audience
/    Partner in market to ensure language and correct terminology are kept up to date – leveraging business relationships and partnerships
/    Ensure that all information is accurate for all markets taking into account local exceptions 
/    Looks after a common tone of voice
/    Supports effective communications for Europe ensuring consistency of messages across all banners and languages as appropriate
/    Responsible for own development and support others to maximise potential 
/    Actively curious with language trends within local markets, ensuring we always remain current 
/    Embed the Leadership Competencies and Cultural Factors by demonstrating understanding 

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

/    Minimum language expectations are English (Business) and fluent in German 
/    Translation / transcreation experience is preferable /    Excellent and credible working knowledge of a TJX store’s operations is desirable
/    Excellent influencing skills particularly upward and have personal impact and credibility
/    Thinks tactically and manages ambiguity when required
/    Strong demonstrated communication skills with ability to read, write, communicate and interpret information accurately; bilingualism is a must; excellent attention to detail and accuracy and advanced experience with document structuring, editing
/    Additional language skills desirable
/    University Degree in Communications / Marketing / Translation (a Bachelor of Language and Linguistics – local equivalents) preferred  
/    Genuine interest in the evolution of language and culture
/    Excellent computer skills including MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
/    Desirable knowledge in CAT Tools (i.e. XTM, Trados, etc.), translation tools (GDT, Termium, Le Petit Robert, etc.) and other translation tool
