The Siemens Sheffield office nowforms a hub for user-centred design practice within Siemens Product EngineeringSoftware. The customer experience team is a multi-disciplinary team formed ofProduct Designers and User Researchers.

What you’ll be doing

During this 12-month internshipyou will be reporting to the User Research lead and Design lead. You will workin a small, agile team tasked with providing actionable customer insights toinform the design of our flagship CAD software. You will be involved inquantitative and qualitative research such as usability testing, interviews,surveys, reviewing analytics and more along with other user researchers. Whilstyou will closely work alongside Product Designers, your work will solely focuson the user research activities of the product design and development process.


What you’ll bring

  • Understanding of user research and a desire to specialize in UX Research.
  • A passion for understanding people, user needs and their behaviors.
  • Keen interest and ideally good knowledge of the study of human behavior.
  • An applied understanding of a variety of research methods (e.g. interviews, usability testing, surveys, data analysis, etc).
  • Experience in the analysis of large sets of quantitative and/or qualitative data (both is a plus).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills that allow you to present data in an understandable, simplified and concise way both visually and verbally. 
  • An interest in Software design 
 

A knowledge of any of thefollowing would be desirable:

  • Agile software development 
  • Design thinking approaches 
  • 3D CAD systems 
 

Other important information:

  • 12-month internship with clearly defined milestones tobuild your user research skills (e.g. building personas, running usabilitytesting and interviews) but also get you familiar with our CAD software and thewider CAD industry. You will also be closely working and supported by the URlead. 
  • You will receive a salary, and all the benefits of any full time Siemens employee 
  • Ideally looking for a candidate who is available from early June
  • This job is primarily remote (applicant must be located in the UK), but will include some travel (e.g. roughly every 6 weeks a two-day meet up - travel and accommodation will be paid by the company (unless you are locally based)) 
  • You will be provided with all the technical set up required to successfully accomplish your job.
