Financial Analyst - Global Business Services

Job description

The Global Business Services (GBS) is looking for a Finance Analyst for our Orlando, FL, location.

In this role you will perform team lead functions, providing guidance and support to both front and back office C&R staff, including critical issue and after-hours support. You will need to be a subject matter authority and lead projects across various closing and reporting topics, while maintaining excellent Customer Service, Quality and Efficiency. This position will report to Accounting Manager at GBS and will work within a team of 20+ individuals

You will be responsible for :

Explore new insights and concepts, capture standard methodologies, and make recommendations to management on Closing & Reporting processes

Perform C&R tasks with high level of efficiency and accuracy, especially during critical closing days

Prepare and maintain ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial documents and fiscal reports.

Perform financial analysis at semi-complex levels including rate of return, depreciation, working capital, investments, budgeting, and financial and expense performance comparisons.

Ensure conformance of FRGs and IFRS requirements - may also provide mentorship in commercial activities (pricing, margin calculations, etc.)

Guide sophisticated accounting projects for C&R, such as; mergers & acquisitions, system migrations, legal entity consolidation and other special projects.

Assist team members on semi-complex accounting activities such as closing programs, validations, reserve calculations, account reconciliations and preparation of journal entries

Ensure accuracy of all closing accounting processes including audit interface.

Maintain and process semi-complex entries in accordance with IFRS/GAAP requirements

Collaborate with back office and other remote teams for general accounting topics and support

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  Strong Technical Accounting and Systems experience, with ability to present at high level or investigation into details
·  Good overall understanding of Siemens Accounting and Finance Processes, and Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRG's)
·  Experience with Accounting and Finance for a large or sophisticated organization required, Closing & Reporting, US GAAP and IFRS are a plus
·  BS/BA in Accounting or Finance preferred, Masters or Professional designations are a plus
·  3 Years of proven track record in the finance field
·  Ability to travel up to 25%
