The Nonclinical Biostatistics group, part of Roche Global Biostatistics, has an opportunity for an exceptionally talented and self-motivated statistician to support our manufacturing and process development organization. Our statisticians partner with scientists and engineers to develop manufacturing processes for new medicines and improve commercial operations. We work as full members and key partners of multi-disciplinary teams. We combine our expertise in applied statistics with our business knowledge to solve the right statistical problems and to provide strategic input to maximize business impact.

Responsibilities:

·  Provide statistical expertise to nonclinical drug development activities, with a focus on small molecule development including process chemistry, formulation, and assay development.
·  Propose experimental design and analysis strategies, perform statistical analyses, and collaborate with engineers to ensure the statistical integrity of nonclinical reports.
·  Develop novel applications of advanced statistical methods and machine learning algorithms for new manufacturing technologies.
·  Support regulatory submissions and investigations.
·  Develop and deliver statistics courses to nonclinical audiences
·  Collaborate with scientists in support of external publications.
·  Promote statistical thinking in decision making in nonclinical areas of drug development.
·  Keep abreast of new developments in statistics, drug development, and regulatory guidance through literature review, conference attendance, and professional activities

Qualifications:

This position requires a PhD in Statistics or equivalent academic training combined with industrial experience. You will bring:

·  Knowledge of design of experiments, statistical process control, sampling, time series, mathematical statistics, relational databases, and computing (R or Python) is preferred.
·  Experience with machine learning is a plus.
·  Strong collaboration and communication skills, a commitment to continued learning, and a passion for bringing new drugs to patients are required.
