Job description

THE OPPORTUNITY With over 150 million subscribers enjoying great content in over 190 countries, it is an exciting time to work at Netflix. Our efforts have brought Netflix to virtually all countries around the globe, and as we continue to scale our content, we are looking for top talent to join our teams and help propel our growth around the world. The international division of our Original Animation team is seeking an experienced, intellectually curious lawyer to lead our business & legal affairs efforts for our new and rapidly growing Latin American (LATAM) original content slate. This rapidly growing initiative, which is central to Netflix’s growth strategy, focuses on developing and producing animated original series and films from across the region. The successful candidate will structure, negotiate and draft agreements necessary to develop, produce and/or license international animated programming from rights acquisition through production, post-production and exhibition on Netflix’s global streaming service. They should have deep familiarity doing business in the region, contacts or familiarity with local markets, strong understanding of commercial terms for animated programming in-region, and an awareness of the entertainment landscape in-region more generally. The successful candidate will be fluent in Spanish and be able to partner closely with cross functional teams working on International Originals in the region -- Content, Intellectual Property, Physical Production, and Production Finance -- and will be an integral part of the growing Content Legal group in LATAM. They should be extremely comfortable counseling business partners and making decisions that have both legal and business impacts, and should be adept at developing and fostering relationships with their counterparts within the LATAM production community. The role is based in Los Angeles and will require significant travel throughout the LATAM region and globally. REQUIREMENTS The successful candidate will have at least five (5) years of post-qualification experience at a firm, production company, studio, talent agency, or other media company with a focus on development and production matters in the Kids & Family space (with a primary emphasis on animated series programming). The candidate should have direct experience drafting and negotiating all forms of rights acquisition and production agreements for animated and live-action Kids & Family programming (including both above-the-line and below-the-line agreements). Must speak fluent English and business/legal level Spanish (preference for Potuguese proficiency and drafting/negotiating skills in Spanish).

Make every future a success.
