DESCRIPTION:    
As a key member of the PINK Merchandising Planning team, the Associate Planner analyzes, tracks, and reports data to assist in the identification and execution of merchandise plans for a category.  The position is primarily focused on forecasting the basics and minimizing forecast errors, as well as assisting the Merchandise Planner in the development and revision of financial plans for a merchandise area in the support of the business, budget, and goal objectives.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Forward/Buy planning: develop input and provide recommendations on how color and styles rank in partnership with merchandise planner(s).  Responsible for creation of purchase order orders, item set up and creation of merchandise plan in required systems. Responsible for setting up pricing required to execute buy strategy. 
•    Initiate forecasts for new style-colors as they meet the basics criteria 
•    Review and analyze business performance and basics trends 
•    Conduct color planning for fashion colors of ongoing styles 
•    In season planning:  analyze current business performance and provide recommendations on promotions and clearance opportunities to maximize profitability.  Develop liquidation plans and responsible for managing price in required systems to optimize margin
•    Support the development of financial sales plans at the color and size level   
•    Analyze and develop size and size curve analytics to optimize digital channel
•    Analyze business performance and make recommendations that will maximize sales and profitability and mitigate risk
•    Manage inventory to achieve seasonal turn, back order and inventory targets      
•    Generate and analyze data relevant to area of responsibility.  Be able synthesize multiple sources of data into a salient report and recommendation to leadership   
•    Communicate openly and directly; accept responsibility and champion ideas despite challenges

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    2-3 years of experience in retail merchandise planning; demand planning; inventory management, allocation or replenishment; financial planning, or financial analysis experience
•    Heavy multi-store distribution and allocation experience an important asset 
•    Excellent understanding of merchandise as it relates to company strategy 
•    Excellent communication, prioritizing and problem-solving skills 
•    Keen ability to interact with peers and merchants 
•    Intermediate level technical proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access 
•    System skills capabilities and proficiency in E3, Data Warehouse and Arthur Planning preferred
•    Bachelor’s degree in finance, operations, economics, business, statistics or equivalent experience
