Job description
Your responsibilities as a Back-end Developer:
· Working in an agile, collaborative environment across software architecture, understanding both front-end and back-end concerns, while specializing in the back-end
· Working with client-server architectures, networking protocols, application development, and databases
· Using and developing RESTful APIs and web services
· Developing and using object oriented programming, multi-threading and concurrency
· Planning, analyzing, designing, and constructing databases
· Implementing industry standards and best practices for database security and capability of analyzing and defining database and information security requirements
· Developing structured query language (SQL) queries, back-end database stored procedures, or NoSQL queries
· Working in programming languages like Ruby, Python, Java, Node.js, server-side JavaScript.
About the project:
· Three back-end application developers will work closely with the front-end developers to establish / utilize a common platform and develop unitied API's that will extract/store employee's skill / expertise related data from/to the trusted data sources.
· Those skill/expertise API's can be consumed not only by the Apollo application, also by applications such as Bluepages, MyLearning. You will work with the solution architect to ensure that this middleware/platform is scalable, secured and can meet performance standards.
· Apollo application will allow employees to view / assess their skills & expertise, to express interest of new job opportunities, to receive the job requisitions with matching skills requirements and to identify the skill/experience gaps of the new job opportunities so that recommendations of learning courses can be delivered.
· The missions of the Apollo project are to improve job mobility and reskill / upskill IBMers. CIODEM20
