The main missions of the role are:
Analyse customer product specifications and applicable regulations/ legislations for his perimeter on program.
Define the product functional analysis (based on standard structure ) to translate customer specifications and internal requirements into clear product performance criteria. Get FIS commitment on these criteria, and get approval from GTS about it.
Participate in the design reviews and contribute to the global product performance
Identify and formalize the KPC list. Participate actively in the DFMEA session for his scope of parts responsibility and identify/ensure that the KPC list is taken into account.
Give the necessary inputs to the SPDE/PDE to ensure that the design meets the defined performance. Support the SPDE/PDE with regard to specifications knowledge and product robustness if needed.
Involve and coordinate needed engineering function such as T&E and GTS to ensure the Product/process robustness and Design to manufacture approach for the given product scope of responsibility.
Ensure consistency between GD&T (incl. Tolerance stacks) and process feasibility.
The DE approves the RPS definition done by PDE or/with PTE for process related features and tolerance stack (defined by PDE and PPV) in line with the Geometry Convergence process
Ensure the definition and implementation of product and processes' poka yoke features defined by PTE and or PML.
Lead the product validations (DVPhase2, DVPhase3 & PVPhase3) for his perimeter on program. Define, plan(with Testing/logistic Dpt), and follow the product validations (CAE and physical tests). Define the product improvements to meet the specifications in line with validation convergence.
Define BOP specifications and ensure robustness of BOP development. For BOP and Internal tools, define the tool requirements related to KPC.
Support Make or Buy. Review consistency between BOP specifications and suppliers commitments. Formalize Purchase Requests for BOP tools kick off and modifications. Support the ASQ in the supplier follow up for product design related issues.
Lead system or sub-assembly geometrical conformity assessment according to the valid version of the "Geometry Convergence Process" procedure (including checking fixture design validation managed by PQL and get the measurements through geometry centre). (Note: single component geometrical conformity assessment is Tools& Equipment Department responsibility and for final assembly it's PDL responsibility).
According to simulation/validation/measurement results, define&track necessary product geometry/interfaces improvements to meet the specifications. Define mock-up sheets for design improvement.
Support the PDL to reach the quality, costs and timing targets of the program. Propose and implement improvements actions. Define adequate timing for his perimeter.
Define engineering levels to be used by (Pilot) Plant during launch. Support the launch of production in the Plant : analyze product conformity ; identify & lead corrective action plan; contribute to ownership of the product of the plant
Organize (as per his perimeter), support and analyze meisterbock activities. The action plan must be reported in the Geometry convergence file
