The opportunity

As an Administrative Lead, you will be a part of Tax Team.  Our firm model is all about providing our people with the skills, information and knowledge to take on some of the biggest challenges in taxation.  You can expect a unique insight into our business, where you’ll build a network of relationships in an area that influences major business decisions every day. As the team continues to grow, so will you, and over time, you will become a well-rounded professional with broad experience in multiple areas of tax reporting.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Scheduling for various tax groups in Montreal, Ottawa, and Atlantic region

· 
Proactively work with team leaders to ensure tax talent is deployed to maximize their development, ensure exceptional client service, and achieve firm metric goals

· 
Utilize strong and effective communication skills to coordinate and share work both within local teams and across national practices

· 
Organize the weekly scheduling meetings, record changes and follow up on issues arising

· 
Coordinate requests for tax hours from other business units

Report preparation

· 
Generate weekly reports for the Canadian tax practice on various stats as well as on an ad hoc basis

Engagement Coordination for Atlantic region Core Canadian tax practice

· 
Ensure the engagement coordination of Canadian corporate tax work is tracked and completed on a timely and efficient basis

· 
Monitor and follow up with tax practitioners to keep the work assignment process on track to meet deadlines

· 
Maintain real-time data of status of projects and tax returns

To qualify for the role you must have

· 
Strong English and French written and verbal communication skills

· 
A keen desire to learn and take on new challenges

· 
At least 2 years related work experience

· 
Able to manage multiple tasks, receive work from various sources and with tight deadlines

· 
Strong organizational and time management skills

· 
Exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel advanced features and strong skills in Microsoft Word

· 
Strong technology skills to become highly effective in use of resource management system and other EY applications

· 
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

· 
Demonstrate sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters

Ideally, you’ll also have

· 
A desire to work in an environment with learning opportunities on a daily basis
