ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA) is one of the leading Retail Electricity Providers in the United States and serves thousands of commercial and industrial customers nationwide. ENGIE strives to provide green electricity to many of these customers, leveraging its fleet of renewable generation assets. The Retail Portfolio Management group is at the forefront of this initiative by orchestrating the link between the Retail Portfolio and renewable generation assets across the country.

 

As the Power Portfolio Management Analyst I, you play a key role in providing the actionable insights necessary for our organization and customers to optimize their risk, cost, and sustainability decisions. Leveraging data science, you will formulate new prediction models and frameworks for ENGIE’s business decisions.

 

·  Research complex business problems and identify opportunities to design, develop, and propose actionable solutions in support of costing, portfolio management, margin analysis activities and renewable pricing and structuring  
·  Support the development and enhancement of models and system platforms to support costing and portfolio management activities
·  Research and produce ad-hoc analysis on market fundamentals, risk exposure, customer load characteristics, various cost components and regulatory issues to enhance competitiveness, optimize risk exposure, ensure accurate position management and improve the profitability of the retail portfolio
·  Support the utilization and application of statistical and predictive modeling techniques in a collaborative environment to build, maintain, and improve decision support systems
·  Analyze supply and demand fundamentals of energy markets
·  Leverage analytical techniques on large datasets to produce actionable analysis
·  Coordinate with various functional groups to review and validate customer revenue and Independent System Operator (ISO) settlement data to gain insights into portfolio profitability 
·  Provide insight into the drivers of portfolio value from budget development through final settlement
·  Support new product development activities through coordination with various internal functional groups

 

 

What You’ll Bring

·  A minimum of bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline where you completed courses in Business, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, Mathematics, Data Science or Computer Science
·  Proficient in languages such as SQL, R, Python, or Stata a plus
·  Experience with Microsoft Power BI, or PowerPivot
·  Problem solving, strong analytical and statistical skills and ability to convey complex technical analysis to a broader audience including senior leadership
·  Familiar with predictive modeling techniques (e.g., linear regression, machine learning, decision trees, and clustering)
·  Strong knowledge and proficiency of MS Excel
·  Experience in extraction, transformation and management of large quantities of data using such tools as VBA, SQL, Microsoft Power BI
·  Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
·  High level of attention to detail
·  Strong oral and written communication skills
·  Ability to think logically and with clear reasoning
·  Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage stressful situations
·  Ability to travel to Austin on short notice to act as backup during emergency situations

 

 

Additional Details

·  This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
·  Must be available to travel domestically  up to 10% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
·  Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing 
·  Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies 

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $53,900 – $83,375 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
