DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for highly talented hands on UX Designer to join our Global Application Modernization Team. The UX Designer is a design thought leader who will help our enterprise customers on their digital transformation journeys and drive design direction for multiple AWS products and services.

Professional Services engages in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base and are obsessed about strong success for the Customer. The Application Migration and Modernization (AM2) Practice collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs. As trusted customer advocates, AM2 helps organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based products and services. As a UX Designer you will have the exciting opportunity to influence and innovate products harnessing the power of the AWS platform that will be used around the world by our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role you will lead design initiatives across our modernization services teams. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams of product managers, UX researchers and engineers to explore, innovate and create ways to help our customers accelerate their digital transformations.

You will interact daily with customers, team members and partners to define customer needs, map user journeys, prototype and test solutions. You will also produce interaction, visual designs, and deliver high quality accessible user experiences for enterprise customers. We are searching for experienced design leaders, who is capable of working quickly to deliver high-quality outputs, with minimal direction. Your deep and practical experience in UX design will call for working on overlapping projects, with the ability to juggle various priorities simultaneously. The right candidate will have a deep understanding of design methods to create user/customer facing applications, experiences and best practices across enterprise customers. This position requires deep customer focus, the ability to dive deep and invent, and the ability to make hard decisions fast.

Design useful, usable, accessible and desirable open source products to meet customers product outcomes from idea generation through design, prototype, testing and delivery.

· Learn the AWS Web Services technologies and their application to build and integrate effective UI solutions;
· Collaborate and communicate effectively within cross-functional teams that span multiple domains of: design, product development, engineering and management levels within multiple environments (ours, customer and partner);
· Work closely with customers and team in design planning and goal creation;
· Create design patterns, guidelines and design standardization across all of the team’s products;
· Conduct and participate in design reviews with a broad range of stakeholders;
· Shape brand standards and create procedures to ensure design language consistency for products;
· Create UI architecture, interface, and interaction flow of services and experiences;
· Quickly and iteratively create user flows, customer journey maps, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups and detailed UI and visual design specifications;
· Perform usability analysis post-launch to inform UX optimization efforts;
· Understand customers and their needs through market analysis, customer research and feedback;
· Serve as an advocate for end users’ needs, abilities, and preferences; and
· Present design work to the user experience team, product team, stakeholders and executives to share progress and for review and feedback.
Our Consultants work with enterprise customers locally, regionally and potentially domestically. As such, Consultants may be required to travel to client locations to sell and deliver professional services as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master’s or Ph.D. degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience;
· Experience designing user interfaces for data visualization or data insight products;
· Experience conducting remote user studies;
· Expertise in UX performance optimization using qualitative and quantitative assessment.
· UX design experience across global markets;
· Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts and rationale for design decisions clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the customers organization; and

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years of experience as a UX designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar;
· 5+ years of experience working in direct collaboration with product leadership, development managers, and cross-functional stakeholders;
· Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and interaction design, user-centered design process, as well as strong knowledge of user experience principles and techniques;
· Experience in designing applications with multiple user touch points with specialty in web design;
· Ability to prototype in modern front-end code such as: CSS, HTML, and JavaScript;
· Professional proficiency in high-fidelity mockup and prototyping tools.
· Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment;
· Familiarity with leading web design patterns and digital service standards;
· Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques;
· Relentless desire for innovation while balancing user model with implementation models;
· An online portfolio demonstrating samples of design deliverables (personas, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes); and
· Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience.
