Job description

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an extraordinary Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Custom Billing team.

The AWS Custom Billing team implements the end-to-end calculation of monthly bills and discounts for customers with Private Pricing Agreements. We are part of AWS Billing, which owns services that operate at massive scale = processing 270 million events per second and 20 terabytes of data per hour.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will have ownership of the creation of ETL jobs and database queries to drive our discount calculations, monthly reporting, and ad hoc analysis. You will work closely with a dedicated software team that owns our monthly billing process and a dedicated data engineering team with responsibility for the structure and availability of underlying datasets.

If you are a strong engineer with experience with finance and accounting systems and automating manual processes, we’d like to talk to you.

You should have deep expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large financial datasets, across a variety of data platforms (from Access to VBA to DynamoDB). You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to understand data requirements. You should be an expert at building SQL queries to drive auditable billing calculations. Above all, you should be passionate about designing a highly reliable and available operational process.

If all of this sounds exciting to you, then please come join us and help shape the future of how enterprise customers interact with AWS through their monthly bill.
