Description of the job
A vacancy for a Mission engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe (Madrid).
The successful applicant will join MSA Systems department.
The candidate must be open to perform frequent bussiness travels to customer & suppliers facilities, and M&L FAL in Seville.
The candidate must be open to be seconded in other countries as Germany according to Airbus D&S secondment policy.

Tasks & accountabilities
As Mission engineer the candidate will participate in Mission System developments for M&L, MRTT & UAS system, mainly focused on detailed design (FRDs, Subsystem Specs, ICDs, Drawings, Equipment Integration, etc.) considering a V-shape development framework. This also considers the V&V activities associated as Rig Testing, A/C ground Testing, etc. and to support the full Qualification & Certification of the product.
Required skills
Required skills for a suitable candidate would be:
· Expertise in Mission & Avionics is greatly appreciated.
· Good knowledge of Mission Sensors & Subsystems, as EO/IR, Radar (SAR, MPR,etc.), SIGINT/ELINT/COMINT, AIS, PLS, Computing, ESM, etc. is also appreciated.
· Good knowledge of Displays, Navigation Systems, Computing Platforms, Transponders, etc.
· Good knowledge of UAS or Manned Mission Systems.
· Excellent knowledge of development & integration activities, from requirements capture to verification/validation activities to achieve a qualified/certified system. That includes engineering fields as safety, quality assurance, configuration control, etc. applied to Mission Systems.
· Good knowledge of procurement activities, from supplier selection to control and monitoring activities.
· Proactiveness is a must.
· Good communication skills, assertiveness and willingness to travel
· It is appreciated programming skills (C/C++, Matlab/Simulink, etc) and Model Based Design knowledge.
· Negotiation level of English and Spanish.
· 3rd language such as German would be a plus
