Description of the job

A permanent job opportunity has arisen for a “Mechanical System Integration & Design Engineer" within Airbus Defence & Space to be based on Getafe site in Spain. The successful candidate will join the TAESY2 department and will be integrated into a multidisciplinary pattern team covering the integration of multiple systems in multiple military platforms (L&M mission & transport, A400M, Airbus Military Derivatives, Eurofighter & Tornado, UAS…).
The Mechanical System Installation teams stand for Quality & Improvement. It is a dynamic area, leading digital product innovation and lean design, adding value within systems requirements integration, and troubleshooting issues in production and in service.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

Activities related with delivering technical solutions in support of build, test and delivery aircraft:

·  Mechanical Systems definition, from Principal Diagrams and System Architecture
·  Mechanical Components Specifications for purchasing
·  Mechanical Parts Documentation for manufacturing
·  Mechanical Systems Installation Documentation for assembling

Associated competences to main activities are:

·  Systems requirement challenging
·  Criteria for systems segregation
·  Definition of systems components position
·  Components selection, specification and practical application
·  Selection of Manufacturing Technologies
·  Assembly and Maintainability Instructions
·  Production and Service Support concurring
·  Documents revision & edition
·  KPI Generation and Documentation Plan & Status Report
·  Design Manual and Design Principles contributing
·  Liaise with production engineering for extended enterprise
·  Design & Product improvement activities.
·  Support cross-program configuration control and cross-functional procedures
·  Interfacing with external partners and suppliers and communicate with surrounding internal systems & airframe structure specialists in design review, test report and project follow-up meeting

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent
·  Abilities to develop Design delegation
·  Motivated, proactive and team dynamic player
·  Committed in their own development to learn new skills
·  Advanced level of English. Fluency in Writing and Spoken English.
·  Fluent level of Spanish.
·  Knowledge of aircraft systems & structures design (composite and/or metallic).
·  Knowledge and experience in CATIA and PDM/PLM Tools, as well as the usual back office tools (Office…).
·  Knowledge and / or experience in work linked to Aeronautic military projects and/or work development knowledge and experience in Airbus platforms will be assessed.
·  A professional experience as an Engineer / Designer will be assessed in:
·  Electrics and Avionics Installation (Electric, Electronic & Electromagnetic Equipment, Lights & Cameras, Sensors & Antennas, Cockpit Instruments…)
·  Fluid Systems Installations (pneumatics, hydraulics, fuel, air conditioning, inerting water & waste, oxygen, fire extinguishing…)
·  Power-plant Systems or Landing Gear Installations,
·  Basic knowledge of structural, electrical and mechanical design and repair techniques.
