Description of the job
Mission of the area: To guarantee the conformity of purchased products according to the requirements specified by our costumers, and to drive quality initiatives in suppliers with a preventive mindset that protect our key stakeholders from quality escapes.
You will have the exciting challenge of contributing with creativity (and in a collaborative mode with other members of the Multi Functional Team) to ensure the quality performance for suppliers of Power Plant commodity.
A profile is required with some technical background (previous experience in Quality, Production, Engineering will be valued) and proficiency in English and Spanish language to join Supply Chain Quality department.
In this role you will contribute in the relationship with suppliers for operational activities and contract management activities, and as the supplier's ambassador to internal functions and potentially external stakeholders, like military airworthiness authorities.
You will evaluate suppliers during the bid phase and you will contribute to the selection of suppliers. Once selected, you will manage the supply chain and the quality aspects of the contract, being responsible for its development in Time, Quality (and Cost when applicable).
You will also manage the quality approval / authorization of the supplier to ensure that it complies with the required certifications in coordination with all stakeholders, being responsible for reporting non-conformities. In particular, you will supervise or support the introduction of new products to ensure the maturity of the industrial process before the series phase.
In addition, you will supervise the aptitude and capacity of the suppliers to ensure identificationand mitigation of any risk of not satisfying quality performance levels. You will identify the supplier's development needs to ensure capacity, aptitude and performance, launching short-term recovery plans if necessary in collaboration with supplier development team. On the other hand, you will initiate and manage projects to improve the quality of the supplier, set long-term development goals and contribute to the annual development of the supplier evaluation (SED).
Finally, you will present the status of the supplier with respect to operational development (KPIs, assessments) at the meetings of the MFT (multifunctional team) / MDT (Multi-development team) and maintain close communication and coordination with internal customer to ensure the contribution of all relevant functions to the delivery of purchased products / services.
Priority will be given to employees whose position is impacted by a workforce adaptation initiative.
