Description of the job

A vacancy for an Airframe Engineering RFE – Release Process and Design Configuration Management team has arisen within Airbus AOSL Getafe (Madrid). The successful applicant will join EST Design Office.
EST is a transnational organization with presence in Getafe, Illescas, Puerto Real, Hamburg, Stade and Toulouse. RFE organization, Rear Fuselage and Empennage, is responsible for the design of HTP, VTP, S19, S19.1, Belly Fairing, besides Landing Gear and passenger doors. EST is currently participating in all Airbus programs: Single Aisle family (A320, A321…), A330, A350XWB family, A380, A400M and Beluga XL. Activities include new developments, R&T support, support to manufacturing and in service support.

The job holder will join the EST Transversal Design team dealing with multiple skills of Aircraft Design Process: Design Configuration, Change Process, Definition Dossier, Release process, DMU process…

The job holder will be based in Airbus Getafe Design Office, working for all programmes and with a high relationship with all centres where EST is present.

Tasks & accountabilities

The main accountabilities of this position will be:

·  To support EST component teams, including Engineering Subcontractors and RSP's, during Design Data Set creation and modification, according to the rules for Design Change Process
·  To manage suppliers activities to ensure the Definition Dossier Quality through Design Data Set checks and analysis of Definition Dossier KPI's
·  Release Process operation of Design Data Set generated or managed by EST organization
·  To support and monitor Release Process in all Airbus Programs (SA, LR, A380, A350, BelugaXL)
·  Use of configuration tools: Sprint, Optegra, etc.
·  Use of design tools: CATIA V5, etc.
·  Use of non-conformity tools: DQN.
·  Recurrent issues investigation and causes determination, taking the adequate corrective actions

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  At least 3 to 5 years of experience in Engineering
·  Knowledge on Airbus Design processes and methods
·  Knowledge on Design/Configuration tools like Catia, Optegra, SPRINT
·  Knowledge on Design Data Set generation and release process
·  Knowledge on Configuration Management and Change process
·  Problem solving skills
·  Capability to contribute to the product value chain with ideas and proposals.
·  Strong interpersonal skills and good communicator orally and in writing, Spanish and English
·  Adaptability-flexibility, open-minded, motivated to learn and to teach, taking initiatives
·  Able to work in a multi-cultural environment.
