A vacancy for an Aerodynamic Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe.
The successful applicant will join the Aerodynamic department. (TAEGA4).

Tasks & accountabilities
As part of the CFD Methods & Tools subdomain of the Aerodynamic Domain, the candidate will:
· Prepare and manage the CFD models to perform the numerical simulation of the aircraft aerodynamic characteristics, including other multi-physics effects (elasticity, flight dynamics, icing, aerothermal, aeroacoustics, etc.). In particular he/she will:
· Generate the models and meshes necessary for the numerical calculations.
· Perform the numerical simulations in collaboration with the data requesters
· Post-process the results to extract the required data for the different end users (aero design, aero datasets, etc)
· Collaborate with the other Aerodynamic subdomains in the interpretation and processing of the data and in the proposal of new optimized designs or improved aero databases.
· Collaborate in the specification of the computing requirements necessary to carry their responsibilities.
· Collaborate in the definition and specification of the modifications/ improvements/ enhancements to be introduced in the CFD codes used by Airbus Defense & Space (TAU, ANSYS CFX, ANSYS Fluent, etc)
· On an opportunity/need basis the job involves collaborating with the other activities in the Aerodynamic Department, in particular in the aerodynamic design of new aircraft, the support of wind tunnel tests, or in performing safe separation studies.
· The activity covers all the product of the Airbus Defense & Space portfolio (A400M, EF-2000, C295, A330MRTT, UAV's, etc)
Required skills
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
· Educated to a degree level (or equivalent) in industrial or aeronautical engineering or a related discipline.
· At least 3 years of experience in engineering.
· Solid experience in the use of CFD codes, meshers, and pot-processers (preferrably ICEM CFD, ANSYS CFX, ANSYS Fluent, TAU, ENSIGHT) is required.
· Experience in CATIA is a plus
· English and Spanish must be negotiation level, written and spoken.
· Capability to work in multi-national teams
· Strong interest in pure technical work. Technical career perspective.
