Job Description

As Painter, your care and attention to detail will ensure that our guests have a memorable stay.

What you will be doing:

·  Responsible for wallpapering, taping, sanding, painting, staining, and furniture repairs for guest rooms.
·  Responsible for tiling, caulking, grouting, plastering, and overseeing minor renovations throughout the hotel.
·  Performs all clean-up duties after repairs. 
·  Completes all assigned work orders and maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
·  Maintains the paint shop in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
·  Responds to emergency situations and carries responsibilities of fire warden as assigned.
·  Maintains a stock of necessary parts and supplies.
·  Actively takes part in providing and participating in on-job training. 
·  Performs additional duties including shift work that may be required and/or necessary. 
·  Carries out all work in a safe manner, following all guidelines as outlined in the Fairmont Hotels' Health & Safety Program.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

·  2-3 years of experience with a good understanding of various methods of wall coverings, tiles, and paint/ stain techniques
·  Health & Safety conscious with an eye for detail and a very high standard of finishing
·  Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written & verbal
