Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
Rooms Technician is skilled in a broad variety of household jobs. She/he will be responsible for completing routine maintenance, undertaking repairs and tackling a range of other practical tasks. Her/his duties can include formwork, carpentry, and minor electrical and plumbing work.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ability to Troubleshoot and perform basic repair of in-room equipment, fixtures & appliances
· Good understanding of Electrical and Plumbing systems
· Understanding of maintenance inventory and requisition of parts and Guestroom supplies as needed
· Greet guests, speak politely, and assist customers
· Maintains the basic upkeep of all rooms and common areas by ensuring all furniture, appliances, and electrical equipment such as televisions, refrigerators, and light fixtures are in working order
· Ensure all paint and flooring meet company standards
· Excellent ability to verbally communicate with guests (and co-workers) to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision
· Follow guest room preventive maintenance checklist to individually complete rooms preventative maintenance process for guest rooms in an efficient and effective manner
· Ensure that all Work Order, PPM & General Maintenance works are properly followed up and done
· To retain daily logs for all work carried out and spares requested/ordered.
· Maintain engineering area is safe, kept clean, and in an orderly manner. Keep close coordination with other engineering staff for smooth operation.
· Participate in departmental meetings and training etc.
· Serve as an active member of hotel emergency response team
· Accident prevention and safety to be aware of all existing departmental job safety analysis and to strive to work in an accident-free manner and to create a safe working environment for himself and for others
· Maintain high standards of GSS and Brand standards for guest rooms and related areas.
· Being resourceful and self-motivated
