Beach Attendant Supervisor

As a member of our Food & Beverage team you will be showcasing a warm and engaging service for our guests.  Assists with managing the operations and resources of the beach by creating and maintaining a safe, clean and relaxing environment.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Beach Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following: 

 

·  Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
·  Maintain a high level of professionalism in all aspects of job performance, practice Fairmont Service Promise’s in all interactions
·  Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
·  Supervise and support all functions of the daily operations of the beach, including beach activities, jitney services, cabana program, tennis and etc.
·  Assists the Beach Manager in developing, planning and implementing guest activities, special group events and site inspections.
·  Ensure all equipment is functioning properly, supplies are maintained at appropriate levels, furnishings are clean and tidy and all are maintained in good condition
·  Ensure Storage and Working Areas are clean, organized and maintained in good condition
·  Supervise, train and develop Beach Attendants as required, whilst holding Colleagues accountable to execute the highest level of guests’ service according to standards.
·  Ensure beach is immaculate and in compliant to Hotel Safety and Health standards
·  Ensure the safety and security of guests at all times and attend to any emergencies or injuries in the work environment.
·  Communicate with shuttle services or various forms of transportation.
·  Report accident reports, in a timely manner and ensure accuracy and designated departments are informed
·  Develop and maintain positive working relationships with guests, colleagues and other stakeholders.
·  Engage with guests in a warm, friendly manner to develop lasting relationships and invite them to return to build guest loyalty
·  Assist with beach operations and propose and facilitate innovative, cost-effective guest experience enhancements.
·  Assists with maintaining beach budget and forecast to account for operational costs and expenses and Monthly profit and loss statement adherence.
·  Support and partake in monthly Department meetings to keep Colleagues informed of standards and changes throughout the property.
·  Resolve guests and Colleague’s concerns in a professional and timely manner
·  Perform any other function related duties and projects as assigned

 

 

 

Qualifications:

·  Previous guest service experience preferred
·  Minimum of 6 months experience in a Beach Attendant role is required
·  Previous related supervisory experience preferred
·  CPR and First Aid Certification
·  Basic Swimming Skills preferred
·  Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
·  Proven record of being self-directed, accountable and reliable
·  Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
·  Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
·  Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications preferred
·  Knowledge of Point of Sale system
·  Must be able to work outdoors and in extreme weather

Physical Aspects of Position (includes but are not limited to)

·  Frequent walking and standing throughout shift
· 

Able to endure long periods of standing, walking, frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling and bending

· 
Able to tolerate prolonged exposure to prevailing weather conditions

· 
Ability to Swim Preferred.

· 
Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

· 
Ability to submerge into the sea water (chest deep) as necessary

Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
