Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems and test strips for use in both home and hospital settings. Our product portfolio includes Freestyle Libre, a recently launched system that is revolutionising how people with diabetes around the world monitor their glucose levels. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people’s lives.

We currently have an opportunity for a Scheduler Analyst to join our Operations Planning team based in Witney, Oxfordshire. In this role, you will be responsible for creating production schedules using dedicated software to achieve planned production targets. You will be required to query various databases and applications and to extract information onto applications such as excel and then present in various forms.

You will need to prepare and present scheduling scenarios based on a set of assumptions, attend cross functional Operational meetings and contribute to the site meeting agreed production plans. Work closely with operations, monitoring production output against the schedule and providing feedback on performance against the schedule provided.

You will need to understand the impact of schedule changes and the effect on material planning, headcount and the master schedule in the ERP/MRP system.

Your overall efforts will contribute towards our combined achievement of productivity, cost and quality goals and objectives.

To be successful, you will be educated to secondary level, and bring previous experience in manufacturing scheduling/planning. You will be systems orientated by nature, with excellent excel and analytical skills, and experienced in the use of MRP/ERP systems. You will also be comfortable presenting data to varying audiences.

We’re looking for someone who is ambitious, highly organised, and excited about joining a team at the forefront of Diabetes Care innovation. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a small team, but interact on a wider business scale. You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.

As you’d expect from an innovative global healthcare company, we offer an excellent starting salary, and a competitive range of benefits including a defined contribution pension scheme, private healthcare, life assurance, and a flexible benefits scheme.
