Job description

General Scope of Position:

Safety, quality and sustainability will be the hallmarks of the Technical Packaging Operator, which will compliment an improved ability to analyze, problem solving, and coach others. The Technical Packaging Operator is required to Operate, Maintain, Improve and Repair equipment according to training endorsement, and will support the delivery of operational KPIs (Productivity, Quality, Safety, Health and Environment, Cost, Delivery, Morale and Innovation. Supported by the core skills to work within an autonomous team, the Technical Packaging Operator will diligently follow the established standards of production delivery and drive continuous improvement. The Technical Packaging Operator will have a basic understanding of key cost drivers in the Sourcing Unit and will grow this in line with her/his wider project management skills.

Job Skills/Tasks:

Follow all plant safety policies and practices.

Train and develop self and others in safety skills and knowledge, contributing to the continuous improvement of safety performance for self and team through participating in the identification, analysis and minimization of risk in the work area.

Support design and implement improvements to material flow, ergonomics, accessibility and safety.

Ensure that all aspects of Quality within the area of responsibility are in accordance with agreed Quality requirements and standards. Conduct regular and stringent Quality inspections.

Actively support the Plant's WCM initiative.

Plan, carry out and review Focused Improvement activities to eliminate losses and prevent recurrence. All associates will give oral presentations.

Reduce costs due to waste and minimize impact to health, safety and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste materials.

Adhere to plant GMP guidelines.

Operate and conduct changeovers on equipment in 5 working zones as required.

Operate pallet jack after certification training with periodic recertification.

Plan and carry out Autonomous Activities in production areas.

Operate within an Autonomous environment that demands outstanding personal qualities to achieve the standards of attitude, motivation, trust and adaptability required to be a world class team player.

Coordinate, schedule, and communicate within team to provide break, over time, and vacation coverage to ensure that team resources can meet operational requirements.

Promote the development of a highly effective team through encouraging good interpersonal skills, leading by example, building rapport and managing conflict while keeping focused on goals and targets.

Conduct Peer to Peer evaluations.

Flexible work schedule. Work shift as assigned and overtime as required.

Competencies:

Understand and follow all plant and departmental policies and procedures.

Demonstrate ability to use Company Work Order System.

Effective computer skills in order to use PC programs, Windows, SAP, Rockwell supervisory system.

Communicate effectively both written and verbally with other plant associates.

Perform primary calculations necessary to record productivity, complete product line run outs, and complete all documentation/measurements required in assigned area.

Ability to utilize existing OPLs, SOPs, and downtime documentation to troubleshoot.

Basic understanding of company business strategy.

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Safety:

· Serve on a Safety, Health, & Environment (SHE) team as assigned.

· Perform periodic safety audits on equipment for proper functionality (example: interlocks, E-stops, cycle stops, etc.)

· Demonstrate concern for safety of co-workers.
