Description

For Thales Alenia Space in Spain in Madrid we are looking for a Procurement Manager (m/f).

Key Responsibilities:

· Is responsible, within the assigned projects, for all procurement activities whether within a bid phase (bid phase, preparation of RFIs/RRFs/RFQs, negotiations with bidders, bidder selection up to contract signature) or within a running contract phase (from kick-off up to contract closure).
· Is responsible within running contracts for the follow-up of the subcontractors and the execution in schedule (OTD), performance (OQD) and cost (OCD).
· Works with a team-spirit transversally inside TAS-E and with other units of the TAS group and THALES, as applicable.
· The position applies to institutional (ESA projects) as well as export programs in Earth Observation, Telecommunication and Science.
· The Procurement Manager belongs to the Procurement Department and its daily work is performed within the projects.

Specific tasks:

· Interfaces between partner companies / subcontractors and internal customers within bid phases and running projects.
· Ensures, when involved in a bid (RFI, RFP, ITT…), that the applicable competitive tender processes are applied and, with the support of the bid team, that related documentation is generated (e.g. draft contracts, NDAs, Statement of Work, Statement of Compliances, PSS sheets…).
· Evaluates relevant bidder proposals, chairs or attends relevant Tender Evaluation Boards (TEBs).
· Participates to subcontractor audits.
· Follows-up running subcontracts (schedule, contract change process…) by establishing program control with the subcontractors to ensure that the targets (OTD, OCD & OQD) are met.
· Reports to internal and external customers on subcontract status for offer phases and running projects where involved.
· Works cooperatively with all the stakeholders involved in the procurement process such as PMO, Purchase, Supply Management, Bid management, System Engineering Management and Sub-system Management.
· Ensures that the rules such as ESA BPs, internal rules and processes are consistently applied in all procurement processes.
· Contributes to cost to value, make vs. buy processes.

Required skills:

· Degree in Physics, Engineering , Business or similar.
· Technical background or capability of understanding technical subjects.
· Fluent in English (negotiation level).
· Capable of working in a multicultural environment.
· Autonomy, pro-activity and capability to anticipate.
· Capability to work in a structure manner.
· Flexible, feels at ease in a changing environment.
· Team player.
· Fast learner.

Desired skills:

· Experience with procurement processes.
· Contractual, supply chain and purchase knowledge.
· Deep knowledge of European space programs and good knowledge of the European space companies.
· International background and experience in other European countries.
· Strong negotiation skills.
· Fluent in Spanish.
· Good knowledge of other languages.
