Sr. Process Engineer

Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for understanding technology and current market innovations for client applications on potential and ongoing Integrated Offshore Solutions projects. The Sr. Process Engineer works internally and externally with client facing personnel and internal project engineers and managers in delivering solutions to clients and in meeting all engineering deliverables of the project. They work with the team and with internal and external suppliers to ensure project technical milestones and overall quality requirements are being met. This role requires the ability to work with teams to screen and develop the scope of work (SOW), coordinating with multiple internal groups to define and deliver the complete system engineering packages. Typically, projects will have multiple, highly complex work scopes with significant customer and supplier collaboration. This is an advanced role focusing on product development requiring both supplier and client interaction. Significant internal coordination and collaboration between various TechnipFMC functions and Project units is fundamental to the success in this role. You will perform state-of-the-art research in Upstream Oil & Gas Process Engineering in support of product development, project execution, and customer support.

Responsibilities:
ā€¢ Works under limited supervision. Uses own judgment to seek guidance from supervisor and/or colleagues where appropriate.
ā€¢ Review, investigate and understand current market trends and available products for IOS applications.
ā€¢ Coordinates and supervises discipline engineers, engineering resources, and external engineering / supplier resources in providing project and product deliverables to internal groups.
ā€¢ Ensure proper implementation of Engineering Plan and Document Register across standard product solutions for application to projects and internal management of suppliers' technical deliverables.
ā€¢ Create, develop and implement field applications with innovative solutions.
ā€¢ Guides and assists team in developing system configuration including material selection based on client field (input) data (fluid properties, flow rates, pressure, etc.) ensuring overall success if client.
ā€¢ Guides and assists the project team, working internally and externally in defining and coordinating the permitting and regulatory processes with local authorities for field developments.
ā€¢ Ensure development of client trust in TechnipFMC technical proposals and client confidence in bringing the best solutions forward to meet desired end-state outcomes.
ā€¢ Produces engineering documents (P&IDs, data sheets, etc.) performing engineering and design calculations required for the performance of system engineering for product development and projects.
ā€¢ Manages and guides the development and finalization of master equipment lists (MEL), weights and dimensional data as may be required for project execution.
ā€¢ Identify and facilitate any required HAZOP/ HAZID workshops and ensure compiled results that are of document quality for view by clients and regulatory bodies that may require access to such documents.
ā€¢ Facilitates the update and currency of Process Data Sheets (PDS) for all equipment and instruments and production of technical notes for reporting of studies.
ā€¢ Guides Project Engineers to ensure that all project SOW, design basis, philosophies, standards and procedures (including QA) are known, understood and implemented.
ā€¢ Provides direction and monitoring during projects' execution of work with regard to content and quality of all documentation within the respective disciplines' scope of work.
ā€¢ Guides and assists project engineering teams during execution within time and budget constraints.
ā€¢ Support procurement and construction including the disposition of site queries and related issues and incorporating any changes or modifications into the designs.
ā€¢ Responsible for coordinating interfaces between engineering disciplines and/or procurement, construction, vendors, licensors, partners, and clients
ā€¢ Represents TechnipFMC towards clients, partners, subcontractors and vendors for technical subjects and may contribute to business development initiatives.
ā€¢ Contributes to schedule and progress measurement preparation, actively controls engineering schedule execution and proposes corrective actions when needed.
ā€¢ Ensures timely internal and external reporting of engineering and design activities and progress

Other responsibilities may include:
ā€¢ Ensures execution within time, budget, and QHSES requirements by allocating resources, managing risks, opportunities, and changes
ā€¢ Builds and maintains relationship with customer and other stakeholders associated with the project and serves as the single point of contact to customer designated project leads and related stakeholders.
ā€¢ Coordinates work with other TechnipFMC design offices, as applicable and required.
ā€¢ Creates a quality and HSE oriented work climate that encourages client satisfaction and HSE consciousness among the project team.
ā€¢ May participate in discipline activities including preparation and checking of documents, specifications, procedures, standards, data sheets etc.
ā€¢ May be required to prepare and check enquiry/purchase requisitions and evaluate bids.
ā€¢ Responsible for managing the engineering budgets and discipline engineering activities.
ā€¢ Seeks to improve the engineering man-hours budget by proposing optimized technical solutions
ā€¢ Participate in business improvement initiatives as applicable including Health, Safety and the Environment.
ā€¢ Responsible for supporting Quotations / Tender Proposals assigned by direct manager. Main tasks during Tender stage are:
ā€¢ Read and Understand work packages. Seek help from Project Engineer as required.
ā€¢ Establish the Project Engineering Execution Plan
ā€¢ Participate in technical handover meetings and may approve handovers.
ā€¢ Builds and encourages a culture of safety with the project and project team.
ā€¢ Contribute to the quotation process and provides project management related information such as schedules and budgets as well as lessons learned for future quote work with clients.
ā€¢ Contributes to people development by interfacing with business unit management, specific managers for project personnel and the contacts within People & Culture.
ā€¢ Manages project technical interfaces with third parties and any offshore interfaces.
ā€¢ Ensures the technical development of any installation, services, and life of field activities implicit with project requirements and delivery.

You are meant for this job if

ā€¢ BS or MSc in an engineering discipline relevant to process engineering (chemical, mechanical, or petroleum engineering, or a related) ideally with graduate-level training.
ā€¢ Knowledge of Surface Drilling and Completion or Production Systems is a plus.
ā€¢ 15+ years of experience in the oil & gas industry as a system/ process engineer or a development planning engineer.
ā€¢ Must demonstrate the ability to work across multiple disciplines, independently consolidate and analyze information from various sources to develop effective, complete and holistic client solutions.
ā€¢ Demonstrates understanding of the design, function, and application for projects/ products.
ā€¢ Demonstrates ability to coordinate multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
ā€¢ Demonstrates advanced process control system development and modeling knowledge.
ā€¢ Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the design of oil and gas processing facilities, utilities, and support systems through the application of thermodynamic fluid properties & phase behavior.
ā€¢ Ability to assess key uncertainties impacting production system development working with several variables to prepare production systems design basis and specifications.
ā€¢ Ability and desire to develop technologies from concept inception through testing and commercialization.
ā€¢ Ability to work with various other internal and external groups to ensure quality of solutions that may require multiple interfaces and present several solutions to internal management and external teams.
ā€¢ Fluency in English both verbal and written is mandatory along with excellent communication skills.
