Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for understanding technology and current market innovations for client applications on potential and ongoing Integrated Offshore Solutions projects. The Sr. Engineer works internally and externally with client facing personnel and internal project engineers and managers in delivering solutions to clients and in meeting all engineering deliverables of the project. They work with the team and with internal and external suppliers to ensure project technical milestones and overall quality requirements are being met. Typically, projects will have multiple, highly complex work scopes with significant customer and supplier collaboration. This is an advanced role within the IOS organization which focuses product development and is both supplier and client facing. Significant internal coordination and collaboration between various TechnipFMC functions and Project units is fundamental to the success in this role.

Responsibilities:
Perform structural analysis and engineering in support of IOS product development, project execution, and customer support.

Main responsibilities include:
• Works under limited supervision. Uses own judgment to seek guidance from supervisor and/or colleagues where appropriate.
• Review, investigate and understand current market trends and available products for IOS applications.
• Review client requirements for fixed offshore platforms and perform suitability analyses of IOS offering.
• Perform in-place dynamic strength, pushover, fatigue, seismic, boat impact and installation related analyses of fixed offshore structures based on client specific requirements.
• Oversee or verify the detail design of supplier (internal and external) structures including helideck structures, crane supports, equipment supports, installation aids, structural connections, etc.
• Oversee and coordinate installation related analyses including load-out, lifting, transportation, stability analyses, pile drivability and design of installation aids for offshore structures.
• Communicate engineering study results effectively to the internal team and externally to clients.
• Represents TechnipFMC towards clients, partners, subcontractors and vendors for technical subjects and may contribute to business development initiatives through suggestions to management.
• Ensure proper implementation of Engineering Plan and Document Register across standard product.
• Attend design review meetings, engineering interface meetings, Health Safety and Environment (HSE) workshops, risk workshops, etc. with clients/ contractors, and internal teams as required.
• Support project teams throughout the design, construction, transportation, and installation portion of the project and provide guidance to the project engineering teams as required.
• Support construction including the disposition of site queries and related issues and incorporating any changes or modifications into the designs.
• Coordinates and supervises discipline engineers and designers, engineering resources, and external engineering / supplier resources in structural analysis & design work and in preparation of drawings.
• Create, develop and implement field applications with innovative solutions.
• Guides and assists the project team to apply design calculations and assess/ verify structural integrity of existing platforms with any modifications in the permitting and regulatory processes with local authorities for field developments.
• Ensure development of client trust in TechnipFMC technical proposals and client confidence in bringing the best solutions forward to meet client requirements.
• Guides and assists project engineering teams during execution within time and budget constraints.
• Responsible for coordinating interfaces between engineering disciplines and/or procurement, construction, vendors, licensors, partners, and clients
• Ensures timely internal and external reporting of engineering and design activities and progress.

Other responsibilities may include:
• Ensures execution within time, budget, and Health Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements by allocating resources, managing risks, opportunities, and changes.
• Builds and maintains relationship with customer designated structural leads and other stakeholders associated with structural and regulatory functions as the single point of contact for IOS.
• Coordinates work with other TechnipFMC design offices, as applicable and required.
• Creates a quality and HSE oriented work climate that encourages client satisfaction and HSE consciousness among the project team.
• Responsible for managing the engineering budgets and discipline engineering activities.
• Seeks to improve the engineering man-hours budget by proposing optimized technical solutions
• Participate in business improvement initiatives as applicable including HSE and Quality.
• Responsible for supporting Quotations / Tender Proposals assigned by direct manager.
• Builds and encourages a culture of safety with the project and project team.
• Contribute to the quotation process and provides structural and engineering related information as well as lessons learned for future quote work with clients.
• Contributes to people development by interfacing with business unit management, specific managers for project engineering personnel and the contacts within People & Culture.
• Manages project technical interfaces with third parties and any offshore interfaces.
• Ensures the technical development of any installation, services, and life of field activities implicit with project requirements and delivery.

You are meant for this job if

• BS or MSc in an engineering discipline relevant to structural engineering.
• Minimum of 14 years relevant experience in structural design and analyses for fixed offshore structures.
• Must demonstrate ability to work across multiple disciplines, independently consolidate and analyze information from various sources to develop effective, complete and holistic client solutions.
• Demonstrates ability to coordinate multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrates advanced process control system development and modeling knowledge.
• Demonstrates specialized knowledge in offshore fixed platform design and analysis techniques.
• Possesses knowledge and practical use of advanced analysis methods including FEM, Wave Dynamic, Spectral Fatigue, Seismic Analysis, Non-linear Impact Analysis, etc.
• Possesses knowledge and practical use of structural analysis and design methodologies and software such as SACS, ANSYS, & USFOS.
• Demonstrates knowledge of structural drawing practices and specifications and application for projects.
• Specialized knowledge of all applicable codes and standards such as API, AISC, DNV and ISO
• Knowledge of hook up and installation for structures with experience of offshore operations to ensure proper application and procedures including hanging/ handling points, CG estimation, etc.
• Ability and desire to develop technologies from concept inception through testing and commercialization.
• Ability to work with various other internal and external groups to ensure quality of solutions that may require multiple interfaces and present several solutions to internal management and external teams.
• Fluency in English both verbal and written is mandatory along with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers of various disciplines.
• Computer skills: advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and system modeling programs.
