RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Extensive contact with all Mechanical Hardware engineering direct reports, in addition to the Electrical, Software and Project Management departments.
• Frequent critical and important interface with customers, vendors and subcontractors.
• Must be able to modify communication and presentation style in order to relate to a variety of people and personalities.
• Recognizes and handles sensitive communications internal and external with all levels of customers and industry bodies.
• Regular contact with the Measurement Solutions Management to report, recommend, request action, etc.

MAIN TASKS:
• Direct all aspects of mechanical engineering associated with engineered systems.
• Direct the staffing, budgeting, scheduling and tasking of the Engineers and Designers.
• Review performance of engineers and designers; establish performance evaluations and development needs for same.
• Develop, maintain and modify the infrastructure as required to support changes in market and production strategies.
• Work with Quality Assurance to conform to ISO certification requirements for the operation and make procedural and operational changes to ease compliance costs in capital and man-hours.
• Insure on-time delivery completed to schedule.
• Schedule and participate in Engineering tasks as required to conform to customer timing and project budget requirements.
• Provide leadership by example, constructive criticism, and tailored assignment to get top efficiency out of engineering and design team.
• Support and encourage training and continuing education within the group.
• Leads the development, review and implementation of key processes, policies and procedures related to business systems reporting and financial controls.
Leads the development of current and future state value stream mapping for departmental work activity. Support implementation plan of lean improvements in Engineering area.
Monitor all engineering and designer project schedules.
Coordinate engineering workloads in order to minimize schedule impact due to shifting priorities.
Produce annual labor and capital budgets for the group.
Control costs and coordinate vacation scheduling to prevent staffing crisis.
Carry out responsible supervision of direct reports to ensure that engineering and designer activities are cooperative and productive.
Provide regular updates to management on current and projected workload versus capacity.
Keep management aware of appropriate personnel information and ensure subordinates have proper training on company policies and procedures.
Maintain an ongoing dialog and feedback process with engineers and designers, with regular documentation and review.
Continue to be current on state-of–the-art in areas of job responsibility and distribute relevant information to other company employees.
Defines responsibilities and tracks and monitors individual performance, quality of output and the impact of output on project delivery and profitability.
Develop and track personnel objectives and coordinates career growth process by recommending training and development opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS:
o Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field.
o MBA highly desirable.
o 10+ years’ experience managing others in gas and liquid measurement technologies and systems, or related industry.
o Understanding of Design process, practices, and challenges; Technical documentation process and Implementation challenges; Best practices of presenting to an audience, Recruiting principles, and Performance metrics.
o Knowledge of budget preparation and accountable for departmental cost control. Must provide department(s) details for forecasting.
o Ability to identify key business processes and performance measures for customer satisfaction and growth.
o Extensive experience leading multiple projects and setting up core business drivers and industry leading performance benchmarks.
o Excellent organization, people, project planning, and execution skills.
o Demonstrates high proficiency in mentoring, thinking creatively, and being resourceful.
o Excellent analytical skills with a minimum of two years working with statistical tools.
o Strong leadership and team building skills with the ability to motivate a diverse group of people.
o Must provide vision and drive results in a positive way for cultural transformation.
o Flexible and willing to adapt to new challenges.
o Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
o Excellent written and communication skills.
o PC skills with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, project, and presentation software.
o General knowledge of Global market conditions and support business unit marketing and sales activities.
