Mission

Description of the Business Line or Department

UK Sourcing is part of the COO function in the UK and supports the business in its acquisition of goods and services with third party vendors. In line with the Global Sourcing Policy, Directive 41, and the Group Sourcing Division (RESG/ACH) UK Sourcing's aims are to minimise and manage cost and risk to the Bank by ensuring:

· 
compliance in regards to relationships with suppliers; to apply a professional and objective approach in the procedure for selecting offers carried out independently of any existing banking relations,

· 
prevention of supplier risk: financial strength and sustainability; economic non-reliance; insurance coverage; capacity to provide services at specified quality levels as well as to respect all their obligations, especially with regard to both business continuity measures when imposed by banking regulations, and corporate and social responsibility,

· 
cost management; to ensure that the Bank is receiving best value for money with
its external suppliers, either through competitive tendering, negotiation or supplier management

· 
contractual security; working closely with Group Legal to ensure appropriate contracts are in place, minimising risks to the Bank

UK Sourcing works closely with the Support Functions and Business Lines to ensure that the business requirements are met whilst adhering to best practice processes and procedures

Summary of the key purposes of the role

As a junior buyer/team assistant for Societe Generale UK Sourcing team in London, you will support the Sourcing team across a variety of projects and categories including communications and events, professional services and facilities management. You willThis will also include some elements of administration for the team including performing supplier due diligence, organising supplier presentations, analysing supplier spend

Summary of responsibilities

· 
To work with the internal stakeholders to manage some stand alone projects. This will include liaising with the internal clients to agree current and future needs; data gathering and analysis; running tender processes, including negotiations; liaising with functions such as legal and operational risk, and contract placement with the successful vendor.

· 
To assist with the policing of the consultancy approval process. This includes liaising with stakeholder to ensure they complete the requisite documentation; liaising with internal teams such as the purchasing team and finance; and liaising with suppliers where appropriate

· 
UK point of contact for Hotel RFP data gathering and liaison with Paris Sourcing

· 
Key hotel relationship management as and when required

· 
To assist the Sourcing Managers in data gathering and analysis

· 
To assist the Head of UK Sourcing in analysing the external spend data with SG; assessing the contract coverage and identifying opportunities

· 
To perform some administrative tasks including booking supplier presentations; managing the stationery and business card contracts and ensuring the invoicing for these is managed appropriately; performing supplier due diligence; ensuring the contracts file is kept up to date

· 
To ensure the use of the e-procurement system, Sourcing Hub, for all projects and performance sheets in line with the international framework
