Description of the Business Line or Department

Societe Generale Prime Services part of the Global Markets' division of Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking is the bank's Prime Brokerage business, offering a unique combination of execution, clearing, custody and financing services. Summary of the key purposes of the role

The scope of the function covers MARK/EQD/PSC/ETD, with a focus on London platform activities.

PSC/ETD is a sub business line of the Prime Brokerage business of SG with 150 dedicated execution specialists: global platform in Cash Equity markets and Exchange Traded Derivatives supporting clients of all types, 125+ Markets and Exchange venues, 12% market share on listed derivatives.

The candidate will be part of the Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETD) and responsible for supporting business line Head and the BMO.

In his/her role supporting the head of Exchange Traded Derivatives, the candidate will be responsible for facilitating business activity and acting as a contact point for queries relating to support and control from the business group.

In his/her role supporting the BMO of Exchange Traded Derivatives, the candidate will be responsible of controlling and supervising the activity of the group and developing the business via the coordination of various projects. The mission is also to ensure that the rules that govern the Derivatives activity are regularly reminded.

In his/her role supporting the BMO of Exchange Traded Derivatives, the candidate will be responsible of producing and running reports requiring a high degree of comfort with data and statistics . While this is not a quant role, i nteraction with the Quant teams and Data teams is needed. Knowledge of R (or Python ) is necessary . The candidate will be required to produce TCA studies and microstructure analysis that are well written and presented.

The position is based in SG Investment Banking Branch in London.

Summary of responsibilities

· 
Preparing presentations for SG Senior management (on sales performance, key projects...)

· 
Generating weekly reports and being the key contact to resolve PnL queries and follow up on PnL projects

· 
Liaising with the operational teams to make sure PnL reports are line with the organisation and working with managers to ensure the activity performance communicated to management is adequate

· 
Assist with on boarding new clients

· 
Assisting with day to day client and internal queries, like Mifid III, Best Execution, TCA reports or due diligence questionnaires

· 
Monitoring and reporting the trading desk's operational risk by performing monthly Permanent Supervision controls and working on procedures

· 
Following up projects and specific product pushes across all platforms and coordinating the organisation of working groups.

Profile Required

Competencies

Rigorous: Working for senior management does not leave room for mistakes – high quality work is mandatory . Good with data and data analysis work and knowledge of statistics. A critical attitude when dealing with data is important.

Strong adaptability in a rapidly moving environment: Flexibility, ability to work under pressure, autonomy, capable of initiatives and anticipation. Ability to prioritise issues in a pressurized environment.

Communication skills: Good oral and written communication is a core skill as a great deal of the job is to liaise with support function and business line to ensure good monitoring and completion of projects. Ability to communicate at different levels within the organisation.

IT Skills: Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint required

IT Skills: VBA is a plus

IT Skills: knowledge of R is preferred (Python otherwise)

Well organised - Ability to plan and schedule: Job involves management of numerous projects with tight deadlines, hence ability to set priorities.

Tenacity and being result oriented: Liaise with and rely on representative from various departments can generate numerous hurdles to the completion of projects. It is important to remain positive and to be tenacious in order to produce results in due times.

Ability to estimate risk: Ability to estimate risk is an important part of the role of the front office and BMO roles

Pro-activeness: Ability to pro-actively raise concern and suggest solution is key

Work Experience

Ideally with previous experience in Finance, on a trading floor (Front Office: sales assistant, trader assistant, or in Middle Office, Risk Department and KYC Department or Back Office)

Education

Graduate from University or Business School with a degree level in Finance

Languages

Fluent in English

Not essential but French language experience would be a plus.
