Staff Accountant-Entry Level

Flender Corp. has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant in our Elgin, IL, location. This position will be part of the accounting group and report directly to the CFO/Controller. This role is an excellent entry-level position to gain valuable experience. You will engage in analytical thinking, further your knowledge of key accounting concepts and controls, and strengthen your leadership skills on a results-oriented team. We are seeking a detail orientated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities will include the following:

Prepare month-end closing journal entries

Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations

Analyze transactions to ensure accurate booking of GL accounts and cost centers

Assist with month-end and quarterly financial closing process

Plans, prepares and reviews monthly and quarterly financial reports according to relevant accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP, and local standards)

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for US & Canada operations

Prepare, review and submit payroll data for US & Canada operations

Other related tasks as assigned

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Required

0-2 years of experience in accounting related role (prior internship experience a plus)

Understanding of GAAP and other accounting control principles

Proficiency in Excel required

Proficiency in Word and Power Point highly recommended

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Detail/Attention to Detail Highly Required
