Job Description

Siemens is looking for a Service Engineer, to be hired with a permanent contract, for its premises in Milan. He/she will be responsible of performing service activities on HW & SW systems related to SCADA applications of the portfolio of the Digital Grid business unit.

The Service Engineer shall perform Service tasks like installation and commissioning of HW equipment and SW applications, monitoring of the installed base, identify technical problems and make analysis through remote or on-site activity. The Service Engineer contribute to customer satisfaction by executing Service work according to customer order and expectation.

What will you manage in the short term?

· 
Installation and commissioning of HW equipment such us servers, workstations, switches, routers, firewalls

· 
Installation and commissioning of SW applications

· 
Periodic monitoring activities on the installed base in order to guarantee the good operation of the systems and to prevent issues

· 
Manage customer incidents or service requests

And what about the medium-long term?

· 
Be part of a growing Service team

· 
Be responsible of a specific Site/Customer for all Service activities

Who are we looking for?

A candidate with the following features:

· 
High School Diploma in Electrotechnical, Electronic, Informatics or equivalent

· 
5+ years of work experience

· 
3+ years of experience in Service Engineer role for SCADA systems

· 
Excellent experience with Linux based operating systems from system administration point of view; in particular with SuSE distribution

· 
Experience with virtualization technology in particular VMWare vSphere and VMWare ESXi

· 
Good knowledge of network design, configuration, and management; including configuration of network switches, routers, and firewalls

· 
Knowledge of network monitoring tools such as Zabbix, TCAT and Idrac / OpenManage

· 
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

· 
Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively in both English and Italian
