Manufacturing Engineer - Coatings

Charlotte, NC
Position Overview:

We are looking to add expert and hardworking Engineers to our team! This position is for a Manufacturing Engineer in the Charlotte Combustion Hot Gas Parts Manufacturing organization. You will be working with a team of manufacturing, design and service engineers, as well as collaborating with shop floor personnel to develop and apply Thermal Barrier and Wear Coatings.

This position sits in Charlotte, NC and will require relocation for non-local candidates. A relocation package will be considered if appropriate. 
Responsibilities:

This person will be responsible for owning the development and application of Thermal Spray processes used to manufacture new unit and repair Combustion components. This person should have strong technical ability in the areas of thermal barrier coating technology, spray process and equipment, and robotic programming. This position also requires the candidate to have the ability to create and detail standard processes and instruct and train technicians on the use of the fixtures, tooling, programs, and equipment. Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and capabilities is required, particularly during the process development phase. This position is being considered for 2 levels, as explained below. 
Required Experience:
·  Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering or related field
·  5+ years of experience will be considered for a level 7 position
·  2+ years of experience will be considered for a level 8 position
·  Experience working with HVOF and APS Coatings
·  Ability to program robot controls
·  Ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications, including a tried understanding of GD&T
·  Focus on quality and continuous improvement
·  Record keeping of tests and changes for qualifications and approval process
·  Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Preferred Experience:
·  Thermal barrier and wear coating applications.
·  Knowledge of Siemens NX, Teamcenter and SAP preferred.
·  Knowledge of Materials laboratory methods and processes
·  CNC programming.
·  Additive manufacturing.
·  Ni based alloy forming and fabrication (welding and brazing).
·  Non-destructive inspection techniques.
·  Fixture design.
·  Lean manufacturing experience.
·  Project management.
·  Root Cause and Preventive Action methods.
