This is your role. What part will you play?

Located in Aberdeen and reporting to the Service Centre Manager this role is responsible for effective procurement activity for the UK&I Service Business. The incumbent will be a key contributor coordinating the purchase, delivery, and supplier quality of assigned commodities and services in a manner that is consistent with Company policies and performance goals. With an entrepreneurial mindset the incumbent will be a problem solver and enable the UK&I Services Business to meet its EBIT targets leading to a high career growth as part of the Siemens Business.

Areas of responsibility:

·  Working closely with the regional Supply Chain Manager (SCM) purchase parts and services at best Total Cost and value for the Company in support of the Service Centre

and Field Service operations

·  Establish working partnership and good relations with internal and external suppliers and internal customers
·  Maintain the integrity of purchasing data on the computer based planning system with error free transactions
·  Coordinate with suppliers to meet customer requirements and the requirements of the Service Centre and ensure these requirements are clearly defined and communicated
·  Process supplier invoices in accordance with procedures
·  Develop, in conjunction with proper planning functions, inventory plans that ensure inventory levels are adequate, but not excessive
·  Participate in an effective cost improvement and savings program for purchased materials and services
·  Evaluate supplier performance using the Company supplier rating model and participate in continuous improvement efforts with suppliers
·  Support project management and sale efforts during the proposal and order processing stages
·  Develop and maintain information to keep abreast of sources, prices and technical innovations on a worldwide basis
·  Coordinate participation of key suppliers in the technical design and manufacturing process
·  Interact with business unit and cost centre personnel to affect the timely release of technical engineering data and subsequent technical engineering changes

What you need to make real what matters.

·  Ability to follow business processes
·  Good commercial acumen
·  Willingness and ability to travel, sometimes at short notice
·  English in written and verbal communication
·  Recognised qualifications in business or procurement
·  Work related experience required
·  Highly skilled with Microsoft office products (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
·  Experience of procurement procedures and systems
·  Track record of transactional purchasing activity
·  Experience of supporting plans to reduce cost of purchasing activity
·  Knowledge of QMS requirements
·  Supplier auditor training
·  Familiar with supplier management including auditing, delivery expediting and non-conformance management
·  Ability to take ownership, think independently, and perform tasks with little supervision
·  Excellent customer service skills
·  Broad knowledge and experience of purchasing and logistics fundamentals including solicitation of bids, negotiations, and import/export practices.
·  Effective teamwork and collaboration cross-functionally.
·  Ability to assess priorities for self and others, demonstrate flexibility, and understand sense of urgency.
·  Self-motivated, strong problem solving abilities, continuous improvement, and proven decision making skills.
·  Must be customer focused and a collaborative team player.
·  Lean and/or Six Sigma continuous improvement experience preferred
