Schneider-Electric (SE) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Electro-Mechanical Test Technician to perform and assist in the production and testing of process analyzers. Our technologies include process gas chromatographs, process mass spectrometry, FTIR, dispersive NIR and Raman. This position will be based out of our Upland, CA manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include detailed testing, troubleshooting and repair of sub-assemblies up to full analyzers and custom systems per Schneider Electric's testing and Quality procedures. The employee will work under the direction of Operations Management and collaborate with Engineering, Quality and our assembly team in the production and service of manufactured products and equipment built to customer specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties will include working with vacuum systems, gas flow systems, pressurized gases, electrical circuits and pneumatic systems in the testing, calibration and validation of process analyzers and sub-assemblies. This position will also include maintaining and building test fixtures and similar equipment. Will need to assist in the maintenance and creation of SE testing and Quality procedures. The candidate will need to perform bench testing including troubleshooting, repairing product assemblies and building test fixtures as needed. Other position tasks will include the following:

· Configure computer, PLC components and program programmable circuits in support of the production of end item products

· Assist other Test Technicians and assemblers to complete tasks and work with Product Engineers on specific projects

· Perform work related to and in support of continuous improvement activities

· Ensure test equipment is properly maintained, calibrated and operational

· Ensure all assigned tasks are performed in a timely manner

· Other duties as required

Qualifications :

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Working Environment:

· Knowledge of lead-free soldering techniques and use of soldering equipment

· Ability to understand and test both low and medium voltage AC & DC circuitry

· Able to test and troubleshoot digital and analog assemblies down to the component level

· Knowledge and application of electrical static discharge (ESD) protection principles

· Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team under management's supervision

· Must be able to read and interpret schematic diagrams, both electrical/electronic, mechanical and pneumatic

· Ability to work with hazardous gases and chemicals as well as high voltage circuits in a safe mannor

· Ability to use electronic testing and measurement equipment, such as DVM's, oscilloscopes, and to correctly interpret the results

· Ability to use power tools such as a drills and saws as well as hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.

· Experience with vacuum / gas systems testing a major plus

Physical Demands:

· Position requires a high level of dexterity and manipulative skill, facility with a wide range of manual and pneumatic hand tools as well as electronic test equipment

· Position will require lifting, carrying, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling and / or squatting and holding in place parts weighting up to 40 lbs. repeatedly over work period

· Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled cylinder shed environment for short periods, and manipulate large, high pressure gas cylinders

· Must have good color vision, to identify color coded wiring and cables

· Be able to occasionally handle, as required, both hazardous and non-hazardous waste in a safe manner and in compliance with local, state, and federal ordinances

· Be able to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday

· Be able to work occasional overtime during the week and on Saturday on short notice

· Be able to follow factory regulations and safety rules and complete required annual safety and job-related training

Qualifications:

· Ability to effectively communicate, both written and oral, in English

· Good computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

· Must be a US citizen and / or eligible to work in the United States

· Associate of Arts/Science in Electrical Engineering or similar Technology Certificate from an accredited College or Trade school preferred; High School Degree/GED or equivalent required

· Five (5) year's comparable experience; or Advanced Military technical school, plus three (3) year's comparable work experience

· Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience performing electronic testing, calibration, assembly and component level troubleshooting of digital and analog circuitry

· Team player with the ability to interface responsibly with people at all levels

· Ability to collect data, establish facts and report non-conformities to supervisor in a timely fashion
