Schneider Electric has an exciting opportunity for YOU to join the Energy business as a Tendering Engineer, reporting to Harry Smith, Tendering Manager

Your Mission:

To understand a customer's requirements for a project and influence their product choice and delivery method. To explore alternative solutions with a customer, and look to add value to a solution through the use of different offers and third party equipment and site solutions. To create an accurate quotation based on the above feedback, with assessments of risk and cash flow, and accurate financial calculations.

You will engage with experts from the business units to complete the solution, as well as with Risk Management, Finance, Contracts and Execution. You will be required to present your offer to management, both within the UK and the Region depending on value and complexity as measured using the Project Category Tool.

Your responsibilities:

· Customer Sales and Site Meetings
· Customer Specifications
· Provide full details of equipment offered to enable customers to assess its suitability
·
Advise customer of any non-compliance or deviations to specifications to prevent potential problems

·
To compile and deliver a formal quotation to enable customer to assess our offer

·

Business Unit Tender Information, including pricing and margin information

·
Risk Assessments

·
Receive and process customer Terms and Conditions

·
Present the offer to senior management in accordance with Delegation of Authority

·
Update and manage appropriate databases and commercial tools in a timely manner

·
Where appropriate, meet with customers and sales engineers to provide input on technical/commercial issues

·
Review incoming orders and provide post order support to order processing functions

·
To work within the guidelines of the Company and the relevant quality procedures and health and safety policies

·

To keep abreast of current product offer, competitor information and current standards/legislation

About you:

Essential:

·
Good negotiation skills

·
Ability to work well within a team

·
PC literate

·
Excellent time managemen t skills

·
Well-developed interpersonal skills (written and verbal)

·
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings

·
Awareness of appropriate competitor offer

·
Detailed knowledge of appropriate current product range

·
Understanding of Commercial T&Cs

·
Minimum of HNC/NVQ Level 4 Electrical/Electronic Engineering

Desirable:

·
Driving licence

·
2 years experience within a similar role

·
Knowledge of Schneider IT tools (bFO/SAP)

·
Presentation skills
