Schneider Electric has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to work as part of a team of highly experienced engineers creating the next generation data center solutions. Due to the success of our business, we are expanding the Design Team with the addition of this position. The person in this role will be based at our St Boi Spain Design Center.

The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of mechanical engineering skills and independent judgment. Must be able to partition and plan work, as well as work with internal and external suppliers and contractors to complete the detailed design. The Mechanical Engineer shall perform the design, analysis, evaluation, verification and documentation of all mechanical chassis, subsystems, structures and components for system level global new product development and customer specific projects.

BSME degree and 1 to 5+ years experience in a mechanical engineering design function. Experience with packaging design projects involving structural and weatherproof enclosures; sheet metal and weldment design and fabrication; working with vendors to select and implement various subsystems; ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and specifications; excellent English verbal and written communication skills to communicate complex technical requirements clearly and concisely; work effectively with multi-disciplined design teams; prioritize workload to meet demands; adapt to changing priorities and have mastery of 3D modeling software and 2D drawing creation.

Preference given to candidates with experience in the following: design of large scale products / projects; structural analysis experience; design of modular buildings or structures; building technology; building codes, power conversion and distribution preferably at high power levels (10kW - 2.5MW), HVAC systems (including Water Chillers, Air coolers, DX systems, Evaporative assist cooling, hydraulics and distribution) .

Domestic and international travel as needed to support the business.
