Job description

Within Sanofi, the Translation Sciences platform occupies an unique position in developing technical and scientific capabilities and expertise to identify targets and biomarkers in various disease areas as well as investigating therapeutic mechanisms of action using translational approaches.

We are seeking a highly motivated and independent scientist to pursue postdoctoral training in early drug discovery through cutting edge research. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with senior mentors to execute a research project in the field of molecular immuno-oncology.

Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs) as well as recombinant antibody-based molecules enable the realization of novel mechanisms of action that aim to improve therapeutic efficacy and safety. However, their selection and biological validation remain challenging, especially because engaging multiple targets and intra-/inter-cellular components.

Within an established group of molecular biology and genomics experts, the selected candidate will develop single cell RNA-Seq approaches to evaluate novel customized Cellular Indexing of Transcriptomes and Epitopes by Sequencing (CITE-seq) solutions for investigating ADC activities in immuno-oncology.

The position will involve working with scientists within the global technology research platforms and Immuno-Oncology Department to execute the project.

The postdoctoral fellow will be mainly involved in implementing molecular and cellular experimental procedure and bioanalysis pipelines for a simultaneous NGS-based detection of barcoded biologics and associated transcriptomics responses in cell lines and immune cells. In particular he/she will validate experimental protocols for the detection and measure of activity of barcoded ADCs on circulating immune cells as well as in tumors at single cell level.

He/she will be part of a larger transversal team, including scientists from Translation Sciences proteomics, genomics and in silico groups, as well as from other Departments , each providing excellent know-how to train the Postdoc or to provide him/her with a solid support (i.e. Bioinformatics).

The Translational Sciences Platform at Sanofi is located in the Boston and Paris areas. The position offered will be based in the Translational Sciences Unit in Chilly-Mazarin near Paris, France.

Qualifications and Skills:

·  Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology or Immunology with a proven track record
·  Strong expertise in molecular and cellular immunology
·  Experience in NGS and/or single cell RNA-Seq would be a distinct advantage.
·  Expertise in Oncology or Immuno-Oncology would be highly appreciated.
·  Outstanding track record of research accomplishments, including publications from doctoral thesis work in reputable journals is a requisite.
·  Aptitude to work transversally in a multidisciplinary environment
·  Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is required.
