Job Description

The associate in this position will be part of the Business Partnering work stream of the Barcelona Global BPA team. The Business Partnering work stream The associates in this work stream will be working with country office(s) / region office(s) / global headquarters for Pharma, Oncology or Sandoz. The key responsibilities will be to drive efficiency and effectiveness in financial planning and performance management and be an active member of the country / cluster / region while being a key contributor of the innovation team in Barcelona. The associate needs to exhibit high communication skills and people agility to engage in interactions with finance leaders of the organization. In this role the associate will need to be mobile i.e. to be able to travel to a different country as required, in order to onboard and to also support the local teams during key planning cycles as well as to build relationships with key stakeholders.
Business Partnering (~80% time commitment) • Business Planning Support the plan cycles and identify appropriate risks and opportunities in achieving the financial performance targets. Drive and support the preparation of annual budgets, forecast, strategic plan by understanding the underlying business drivers of the country, region or global and internal customers stakeholder management. • Business & Reporting Solutions Work closely with the customer to optimize the planning process, implement end-to-end solutions and drive a reporting solution by leveraging the Barcelona team operations expertise. Assist stakeholders with any ad-hoc requests. Actively contribute and collaborate to identify processes / reports which can be improved, standardized and automated. BPA Consulting / Digital Innovation (~20% time commitment) Actively contribute and collaborate with the Digital Innovation and BPA Consulting work streams on innovative projects. Participate actively in the prototype phase and provide suggestions, business impact to solutions proposed. In the solution roll-out phase, where the idea is implemented across all Novartis units globally, you may choose to volunteer to be the Regional Champion for any of the regions in order to manage the project and drive the initiative.

Minimum requirements

BA / post graduate degree in Finance / Accounting Fluent in written & spoken English. Knowledge of European languages have an added advantage 1 to 3 years of Financial Planning & Analysis experience or related preferably in Pharmaceutical Industry
