Roquette America’s manufacturing facility in Keokuk, Iowa is an expansive continuous processing corn wet-milling facility that proudly produces corn-based starches, syrups and polyols used in many food and beverage applications as well as in pharmaceuticals, paper products, cosmetics and agricultural goods.

Job Description

The Production Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising bargaining unit employees on shift, and monitoring and guiding operations' performance of their assigned production area to ensure safe actions, environmental compliance and quality production in RAI's Good Manufacturing Practice food-grade operation.

Responsibilities:

·  Monitors and supervises processes, production activities and operational performance then guides bargaining unit employees on adjustments to meet or exceed all established quaility requirements (including product integrity and production documentation), achieve department KPI goals and business targets as well as targeted efficiencies, yields, volume and material usage.
·  Determines manufacturing priorities based on established weekly and monthly production schedules. 
·  Tactically develops, monitors, adjusts and communicates production, shift and multi-shift plans for their respective department, teams and inter-departments to maximize efficiency.
·  Leads employees towards safety work conduct, sound environmental controls and stewardship, and product integrity. 
·  ​Coaches all people with both positive and corrective feedback, encouraging active employee engagement in preparing for and acting to achieve safe work.  Implements departmental safety programs to ensure the safety of employees working in the area.
·  Interprets specifications and makes judgments about acceptability of in-process production and assures product quality. 
·  Plans and coordinates shift and multi-shift activities to assure that production is aligned with customers' needs; that customer orders are produced and shipped

·  Executes improvement projects for reliability, yield, and rates to reduce fixed and variable costs. 
·  Leads innovation facilitation by drawing ideas from employees, other team leaders, engineers and other departments. 
·  Assists hourly employees in problem solving , exercising considerable judgment.
·  Directs, trains and monitors on-shift employees as to the knowledge, understanding, and compliance of all policies and procedures. 
·  Leads adherence to policies, procedures, programs, principles, and the bargaining unit contract.
·  Implements and sustains sound process controls through computer-controlled systems as well as operators.
·  Directs routine equipment maintenance and set up. 
·  Initiates maintenance work order requests and participates in the maintenance planning process to facilitate achieving quality, performance and cost targets.
·  Conducts regularly scheduled shift meetings to support principled work performance, leading to inform, communicate listen and react to suggestions and concerns.
·  Supervises Bargaining Unit employees in all related personnel actions including training, coaching, evaluation and administering personal performance reviews, discipline, and the first step of the grievance process.

Requirements:

·  Experience in relatable food or continuous processing industrial facility.
·  Prior supervisory experience.
·  Ability to work rotating 12 hour swing shift
