The Summer @ Roche Intern Program has been developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience and numerous opportunities to network with other interns as well as employees in the organization. Additionally, we help our students meet their career development and educational goals while potentially building a future with the Roche organization. Leveraging the education you received already, we hope to give you an opportunity to grow and develop with us!

Additionally, the selected intern will be asked to participate in various intern activities, which may include workshops with leaders in the organization, our mentor program, and our Poster Symposium among otheractivities.

The Position

You will join a team of engineers in crafting solutions to some of the most complex data pipeline problems in the world in diagnostics today, there are 18 Billion data points generated in systems that are not only inaccessible but were never designed to talk to each other. You will be helping create enterprise-scale software systems to tackle the fragmentation of this data. You will be up close and personal with all the usual things, like design conception, design reviews for components or features, development and testing of the core software stack.

Your Responsibilities:

· 
Software Development: This is a hands-on you're writing high-quality code for software that will perform at scale, be supportable, and be extensible, kind of role.

· 
Process & Operations: Builds, maintains, and extends our DevOps toolset to ensure ongoing improvements to team productivity and product scalability

· 
Leadership: Ensuring we amplify our culture. Embody our value for technical excellence, integrity and support and compassion for individuals

Qualifications:

· 
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program calendar year 2020. Area of study: Computer Science or in a related area.

· 
Hands-on software development experience in Java, Python, JavaScript or similar language, SQL and/or NoSQL database experience.

· 
Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular is plus.

· 
Commitment to agile practice, and scalable architecture.

· 
Ability to understand complex workflows and develop and validate innovative solutions to solve difficult problems

What You Will Learn:

· 
Oncology Clinical Decision Support products and how your work will improve patient care

· 
Writing clean code, automated tests, infra as code

· 
Security in the Cloud and healthcare

· 
General scripting using tools such as Python or Shell scripting

· 
Hands on in Cloud (AWS) technologies and how to build highly available, scalable, performant microservices and UI
