Job Summary:

A Sr. Lab Tech position is available in the Oligonucleotide Manufacturing Group for individuals with experience in oligonucleotide purification production and oligonucleotide characterization by analytical HPLC methods.

Responsibilities:

·  Performing oligonucleotide purification and characterization by following detailed instructions outlined in production batch records and SOPs
·  The candidate will be expected to organize work to ensure efficient utilization of time and materials and to complete all procedures in a cGMP compliant manner
·  The candidate will also be expected to respond quickly and effectively to multiple and changing priorities, and to schedule work effectively to ensure that current and future needs are met
·  The candidate will be required to accurately and consistently record methods, materials, and results in batch records according to established formats and to keep supervisor informed on status of all projects and of significant findings and results in critical areas.

Additional Responsibilities:

·  Perform and oversee oligo purification production for MCM Operations and ensure quality of production by the department.
·  Performs a variety of duties relating to production. Follows departmental work instructions, SOP's, OSHA safety regulations and cGMPs to perform assigned tasks.
·  Monitor lab supply inventory.
·  Duties may include handling of hazardous materials. Light lifting is required.
·  Input production data and other work-output data into appropriate network (e.g. SAP / LIMS) and maintain documentation in accordance with established procedures.
·  Duties may include preparing buffers as needed.
·  Interface with internal groups to assure laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration and documents conform with established practices.
·  Attends required training classes and participates in on-the-job training.
·  Manages scheduled daily activities to completion.1
·  Providesinput for improving existing laboratory procedures. Assist supervisor in development and implementation of new procedures and evaluating new products and equipment. Assist with generation of written standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

Formal Training/ Education

·  Minimum(required):AssociatesDegree
·  Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Chemistry Biochemistry
·  equivalent combination of education and work experience

Job-related Experience:
Minimum(required):

·  2 - 4 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skill or Ability:

·  Knowledge in oligonucleotide purification and PCR technology is desirable
·  Good communication and teamwork skills are required
·  Ability to work under cGMP guidelines, and coordinate/implement production schedule is necessary
·  Strong verbal/written skills are required
·  HPLC experience Preferred
·  Bsic proficiency with MS Word and Excel; Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
