The Position

The Biosample Lab Associate (BLA) is responsible for developing, implementing and performing activities related to clinical sample processing enabling further biomarker analysis.

This role supports the Biosample Operations Lab Supervisor (BOLS) to ensure that lab activities fulfill customer needs and is responsible for achieving operational excellence in quality, service level, cost and compliance.The selected candidate will be responsible to:

·  Works in accordance with all applicable Controlled Documents (e.g. SOPs and, Working Instructions, Working Documents), as appropriate, to complete sample handling & processing activities and according to local health and safety rules
·  Under the guidance of the BOLS and/or Senior BLA, ensures that samples are processed and/or shipped within agreed timelines
·  Performs manual and/or automated processes for serum/plasma/urine/RNA aliquoting, DNA extraction/preparation from various clinical samples on a routine basis according to timelines set by the BOLS or Lab Head
·  Performs in-process QC methods to assess quality of samples
·  Maintains detailed laboratory records of samples QC steps and related quality data
·  Evaluates new technologies for their suitability for analyzing clinical samples
·  Ensures that samples are managed and stored according to protocol requirements and BRM Operations best practices
·  Provides administrative support to the functioning of the lab, as appropriate (use of ordering system, manage consumables, maintain inventory lists etc.)

To be successful in the role you bring:

·  Bachelor or Master degree with at least 3 years of experience in molecular biology technics
·  Strong theoretical and practical understanding of nucleic acid handling and analysis
·  Prior experience in DNA next generation sequencing (NGS) would be desirable
·  Experience in utilizing a variety of analytical platforms and instrumentation
·  Ability to perform laboratory process optimization and validation
·  Computer skills in laboratory informatic systems and data processing
·  Team player with demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships within functional area
·  Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to tight timelines
·  Customer orientated mind-set
