As a Big Data Platform Engineer, you will be working on a range of highly important projects for internal clients, mainly focussed on the Cloud. With a focus on application and infrastructure platform automation, you will be building high availability systems using CI/CD processes, working with clusters and deploying directly onto the server.

You will own and develop the horizontal technical layer, blending technologies that create the vital working ecosystem for data scientists, data engineers, analysts and application managers, and be able to learn what they are doing with your work. You will be building integrating structured, modular, scalable systems as well as managing up to 20 vendors.

Containerisation (Kubernetes and all flavours), advanced analytics platforms and software, microservices and modular scalable systems are all a focus at P&G, and you will have the opportunity to work on a variety and breadth of solutions, applications and environments - Whatever technology is necessary for a particular problem, including open source software.

Significant and continued training is provided as well as opportunities to gain further certifications and attend conferences. Your technical prowess is driven by the progress in the systems and you will have control over a consistent, integrated career path, whether that be into data engineering, data science, machine learning or other.

Furthermore, you are not hired for a role at P&G but the company. Doors are open to all areas of the business, whether that be across functions, e.g. marketing, R&D, supply chain, or geographically into Cincinnati, Geneva, Singapore, Dubai or Guangzhou in China.

WITH US YOU WILL:

-Develop and deploy directly onto the platform

-Automate and autoscale infrastructure in the Cloud technologies (typically Azure and AWS)

-Work with whatever technology is necessary for a particular problem, including open source software

-Own and develop the horizontal technical layer blending technologies that create the vital working ecosystem for data scientists, data engineers, analysts, application managers

Qualifications

APPLY IF YOU HAVE:

-Expereince with DevOps

-Bash and Python experience

-Experience with Hadoop and Linux is beneficial

-Experience working with Cloud technologies such as AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google

-Experience using open source software

-Fluency in English
