Description of the role

Leads and manages a team of associates and engages with vendors to execute all Retail Measurement Services data collection / acquisition activities, conforming to and be fully compliant with global governance standards and guidelines, within assigned geography, ensuring predictable and committed results. The role will also include support on the Input Operations Digital Journey 2020 Transformation (e-Collection and A2S).

Data acquisition responsibilities
•Responsible for getting all data collection committed on time and in compliance to Nielsen quality standards
•Accountable for the implementation and management of data collection / acquisition methods defined by Global Governance & Data Science. Ensure panel health in line with Data Science requirements
•Implement global methodology / standards set by Input Operations Global Governance team
•Monitor data collection quality, initiating corrective action to restore data quality when required
•Provide cost/benefit analysis on the data collection service. Propose and manage solutions for cost reduction on the service.
•Work with vendors as required achieving and maintaining cooperation. Works with vendor to improve KPI’s and data collection activities
•Manage and monitor third party SLA’s with respect to guidelines set, escalate issues as required
•Work closely with other RMS Data Acquisition leaders to share best practices and learning for overall development of DA
•Implement e-Collection and Traditional Trade Reinvention as part of our Digital Journey 2020 transformation
•Ensure all required reports and evaluations are completed accurately and delivered on time

Deliver predictable commitments/results
•Financials
Complete all deliverables within approved financials unless separate approval given.
Prepare accurate and timely Monthly Financial Analysis, Tracking Tools and Forecasts assuming ownership and full accountability for own area of responsibility
Respond to queries on financials in a timely manner
•Productivity
Deliver on cost leadership targets through initiating and execution of productivity initiatives
Identify further productivity & cost leadership initiatives to build continuous pipeline
•Quality – meet or exceed KPI targets
•Timeliness – meet or exceed expected / committed client deliverables in a timely manner
•Projects – provide necessary resources and support to execute strategic/LOB related projects approved for own designated geographies

•Manage, develop and optimize the team
•Conduct employee performance reviews, develop and/ or manage-out resources in line with Nielsen performance guidelines
•Coach and develop own staff, identify talent and create development opportunities to ensure talent retention. Build a bench for own succession
•Engage continuously with own employees and create an environment that fosters a One IO team approach
•Ensure Nielsen Core Values, IO Principles, Standards & Policies are understood and complied with, by own team

•Budget responsibility: cost budget for DA RMS Iberia
•Number of employees managed directly: 5+
•Number of vendors indirectly managed: 3+

Main skills and competencies

•Seven + years working experience and at least three years of experience in leading operations roles - E
•Experience in vendor management, engagement and negotiation - E
•Market research field force operations experience or equivalent operational experience - P
•Good understanding of operational financial terminology and operational metrics - E
•Strong communication skills at all levels of management, matched with good presentation and influencing skills - E
•Fluency in Business English and fluency in Spanish - E
•Fluency in Portuguese - P
•Ability to operate effectively with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment and drive innovation - E
