Upstream R&D Associate Scientist

Your role :

At MilliporeSigma an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the company as an Associate Scientist, a critical support role within the BioContinuum™ Platform Applications & Innovation team. As an integral team member, you will be responsible for providing lab-based technical support for existing and future projects focused on intensified and continuous upstream processing.Typical activities that you will be responsible for include initiating and maintaining seed trains, maintaining bench scale fed-batch and perfusion bioreactor runs, buffer and media preparation from powder, tubing manifold preparation, bioreactor vessel cleaning / assembly / disassembly. You will also be responsible for leading lab-management activities required to drive lab-efficiency and compliance efforts.

 

Who you are : 

Minimum Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology or other Science or Engineering discipline

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Experience with aseptic handling
·  Experience running fed-batch and perfusion bioreactors
·  Ability to work on multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix environment
·  Ability and willingness to work under limited general supervision of higher-level scientist or manager
·  Agility and willingness to learn new skills
·  Organizational skills demonstrated in time and project management
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·  Excellent interpersonal skills
