Packaging Operator 1 (3rd Shift)

Your Role:

 

•    Weigh hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals using precision equipment into specified containers
•    Verify functioning of room ventilation and safety equipment, obtain process order, scan into computer system, verify electronic balance is              calibrated 
•    Verify bulk container numbers, batch, and material numbers against those called for on the process order and complete all required                      paperwork and documentation
•    Operate powered pallet and drum movers
•    Occasionally operate computers for completion of online learning assignments
•    Compare filled quantity against the consumed bulk quantity to ensure quality requirements
•    Populate process order with required data following Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
•    Understand rules of hazardous materials shipping regulations
•    Maintain equipment, tools, and facilities in safe, clean environment
•    Assemble, disassemble semiautomatic powder or liquid dispensing equipment and replace worn or disposable parts as necessary
•    Clean semi-automatic dispensing equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and chemical safety protocols
•    Clean tools and utensils with appropriate protocol according chemical weighed
•    Document cleaning of work area on cleaning log when applicable
•    Wear respiratory protection and don other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
•    Label and overpack filled units for shipping in compliance with shipping regulations
•    Set up, operate, and troubleshoot all automated labeling, sealing, and bagging equipment
•    Properly dispose of waste according to company and government regulations
•    Participates in testing and implementation of changes
•    Maintain clean and safe work areas and equipment following 6S standards
•    Take necessary steps to assure we provide our customers with the highest quality product possible
•    Immediately report any situation that could compromise safety or quality
•    Miscellaneous duties and tasks as assigned
•    Actively participates in a proactive safety culture; identifying hazards, making suggestions for improvement and working incident free
•    Able to work independently as well as part of a team

 

Physical Attributes:

•    Wearing of appropriate protective gear, (hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes) and other personal                    protection equipment 'PPE' to protect themselves from toxic or corrosive chemicals in the forms of liquids, solids, vapors or airborne particles
•    The work area may occasionally be wet, humid abnormally hot or cold
•    Siting, standing, walking, reaching above the shoulder, stooping, kneeling, twisting, crouching or crawling for long periods of time
•    Talking, hearing, tasting and smelling 
•    Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and ability to push and pull heavy materials to complete assignment; May lift more          poundage with assistance
•    Utilize vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus 
•    Uses phones, computers, computer monitors and office/manufacturing equipment
•    Typing at a computer keyboard and have the ability to read CRTs/computer monitors

 

 

**Earn a $1000 Sign On Bonus payable after 30 days of employment**

  

3rd Shift: Sun - Thurs 11pm-7:30am

Payrate:  $16.80+ per hour + 10% shift differential

 

Minimum Qualifications:

•    High School Diploma, GED, or HSED equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

 

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry
·  Mechanical experience
·  6 Months+ chemistry related work experience
·  Basic math skills including the metric system
·  Ability to learn SOP's/UOP's, cleaning protocols, work and conduct rules
·  Ability to learn to use safety equipment and semi-automated equipment
·  Excellent eye-hand coordination and ability to use small and large hand and power tools
·  Legible handwriting and strong oral and written communication skills
·  Good problem solving, time management and organizational skills
·  Ability to operate a forklift
·  Ability to train others and work in a team setting
