Mars Petcare is Currently Seeking a Sr. Conformance Technician Located in

Kansas City, MO

Position Overview
The Sr. Conformance Technician is responsible and accountable for supporting Quality & Food Safety through:

• Monitoring and inspecting process and packaging processes according to Q&FS policies and procedures, and QMP standards.
• Manage the testing requirements for the positive release programs
• Initiate any Non-con’s and PRIMP’s needed in support of our Quality & Food Safety process
• Providing guidance and oversight to the Conformance Techs on shift
• Liaise with site Quality & Food Safety team
• This role reports to the Shift Manger and is a member of the production team

Principal Accountabilities

• Adhere to personal safety practices that meet OSHA & Mars standards to assure a safe environment for associate and others. Maintain open communication with site safety committee and site safety manager as appropriate for the role.
• Complete analytical testing and evaluation of finished product as required to by Q&FS policies and procedures.
• Monitoring and inspecting processes according to Q&FS policies and procedures, and QMP standards. This includes, but are not limited to:

·  Processing
·  Packaging
·  Sanitation
·  Microbial Control
·  Perform compositing activities in accordance with aseptic micro procedures
·  Perform Environmental Monitoring programs such as ER (Environmental Residue) sampling, ES (Environmental Swabbing) sampling and Airborne Mold sampling

• Support PRIMP or Non-Conformance documentation through the NEXUS system
• Participate in CAPA, Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement activities
• Traceability programs to include support of Mock Recalls
• Quality of Testing Protocols
• Record Control
• Positive Release Programs
• Utilization of SPC systems to effect positive change through trending and analysis of data
• Maintain continuous communication with site functional teams to assure complete awareness of the manufacturing process in compliance with Q&FS and performance objectives.
• Participate in the development, revision, and training of mission critical competencies as related to the responsibilities and accountabilities of the position
• Train other associates in operation of areas and systems, including safety, quality and strategy.
• Demonstrate a quality culture in actions, words and spirit.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated leadership and technical skills
• Effective analytical, troubleshooting, and computer skills
• Effective math, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
• Sufficient mobility, strength, flexibility, hearing and sight to access all job relevant areas and perform routine activities as necessary to deliver required results.
• Some pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, and lifting (up to 40 lbs.) necessary

Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree OR 2 years Quality Control Experience (preferably with lab experience)
• One-year pet food and/or food manufacturing experience
• Ability to train associates on all QA equipment, testing, policies and procedures
• Knowledge of GMP's
